ARMOR Mods Armor 1.0 RDA Intro
Every now and then a new piece of vaping gear comes along that makes me go “wow”, and today is one of those days.
A new player to the vaping industry, Armor Mods out of Malaysia, debuted their very first product in January of 2017 called the Armor 1.0 RDA. This RDA looks like a must-have for drippers and squonkers alike… and you can count me among both groups.
The Armor 1.0 is a smallish two post RDA, capable of single or dual coils with a reduced chamber and sqounk pin. The kit includes a peek-chamber reducer for single coil use, a 510 drip-tip adapter, and a solid 510 pin for dripping.

Honk if you squonk
Right away you can see that the Armor is built for flavor with a 22mm diameter, short stature, and the stepped/beveled cap design that reduces the chamber even further. With a finned airflow insert peeking out through the dual adjustable side airflow slots, the RDA very elegant looking. Armor Mods wisely chose to apply their logo to the chamber reducer, leaving the finely machined cap superbly unadorned.
All of this flavor-chasing nirvana does come at a price though, with the Armor RDA retailing at $95, which is not out of line when you consider that a bottom-feed Stumpy, NarDA, Origen Little 16, among others, are all near, or north of 100 bucks.
Armor Mods is also offering some optional accessories, including a black delrin top cap and 510 adapter to allow you to change the look and feel of your Armor RDA
Yeah, I said it again.
Imagine a new company releasing its first product, an RDA with a squonk pin that checks all the boxes of flavor chasers everywhere: small chamber, single coil chamber reducer, fantastic fit and finish, logo-less cap with dual-adjustable side-airflow, and you have what is the equivalent of hitting a grand slam on your first major league at-bat.
And even though the Armor 1.0 can’t really be called affordable at near 100 bucks (or more depending on options), I expect this RDA will still look like a quite a bargain to flavor-chasing squonkers everywhere, and should create quite a buzz.
In a word… awesome (bet you thought I was gonna say “wow”).
It remains to be seen if the Armor 1.0 RDA will be brought to the larger market or whether it remain a game of X1 on FB. For now, you can only access it through the Armor Mods Facebook group, and even that is difficult. But catching a unicorn is never easy.
