Eleaf Melo 300 review | Melo all grown up

The Eleaf Melo 300 is the latest sub ohm tank by Eleaf designed for ultra-high wattage vaping (100-300W). This ain't your daddy's sub ohm tank.

Eleaf Melo 300 Intro

I don’t even know where to begin. This is getting out of hand. I love vaping, but I think we might need to slow down a bit. Now that 300W mods have become a reality, Eleaf has created a tank that would be suitable for such high wattages. Is the Melo 300 the future of sub ohm vaping?

I really hope not. Don’t get me wrong, I am a sub ohm vaper. I enjoy a nice .3 ohm build on my rebuildable atomizers, and sometimes I’ll chuck a .5 ohm coil in the subtank when I’m feeling lazy. Vaping at 60-70 watts is more than enough for me. Why would you ever vape at 300W!?

But let’s just say that is your thing. You want to chuck the biggest clouds imaginable, and don’t have time to build your own coils. The Melo 300 is the answer. Just throw one of these things on your mod and you’ll be chuckin’ in no time. Let’s find out what’s so great about vaping at 300W.

I mean, what the heck? 300W. We’re really doing this now? Honestly I don’t really know how to wrap my head around it all. I’m almost scared to do this, and yet so very curious. Have we gone too far with this vaping thing? We’re about to find out. Here’s my thoughts on the Melo 300….

With the onset of 300W+ mods hitting the market these days, fans of sub ohm tanks are going to need something that can allow them to explore the upper wattage range of their new mods. The Eleaf Melo 300W is designed to be vaped at 100-300W, which will be a record high for me.

The Eleaf Melo is a beast of a tank. It has that classic Eleaf look and feel, solid polished steel. It has a wide bore drip tip and a really cool top-fill system. You just push the drip tip back, to reveal a huge fill port, and fill ‘er up. The sextuple coil heads are big, beefy and most importantly, sexy.

Let’s not waste any more time, and just jump into this review. It’s time to go big or go home….

This review was done using the RX300, Wismec’s quad-cell mod that fires up to 300W.

Performance

Ok, first things first. This thing goes through more juice than a late night infomercial. Seriously, if you are getting into super high wattage vaping, you might want to look into DIY or budget juice. You will easily go through a bottle of e-liquid a day with the Melo 300, this is a very thirsty tank.

You can also find great deals on e-liquid on our official Deals page.

The Melo 300 performs decent at 100 watts, but really shines at around 140 or 150. With a .17 ohm coil, the vape is actually not as hot as you might expect, despite there being six coils. At 200W, the vapor gets very warm and intense. The clouds I’m getting off this tank are ridiculous!

At 300W, I was almost scared to push the fire button. Even with the wide bore drip tip and airflow wide open, I am getting a hot vape off the Melo 300. The vapor production is absurd, and the flavor is everything you would expect from a Melo tank, except now more intense than ever.

There are two versions of the Melo 300, I recommend the bigger 6.5 mL one. The smaller 3.5mL version doesn’t make too much sense. The coil head takes up almost the entire tank, and after only a few puffs, the juice only covers half of the gigantic juice feed holes on the coil head.

Both the 3.5mL version and the 6.5mL version are the same price.

Likes

  • Performs great at various wattages
  • Sturdy construction
  • Good flavor
  • Huge clouds
  • Easy top-fill
  • Nice overall design

Dislikes

  • 3.5 mL version needs to be refilled constantly
  • Juice guzzler
  • No RBA section included

Verdict

If you are looking for a sub ohm tank for your new quad-cell mod, and love vaping at high wattages, then don’t sleep on the Melo 300. The Melo range has been known for its great flavor and the Melo 300 doesn’t disappoint. The flavor and cloud production are massive on this thing.

This is not for the newbie vaper, or somebody who just wants to quit cigarettes. This is for vapers who want to take it to the next level. I enjoyed vaping on the Melo 300, but I’m not even sure if this is how I will be vaping. A .3 ohm dual clapton at 60-70W is enough of a vape for me.
