Why You Should Never Vape Hot Peppers

YouTuber Russell Hawkins attempts something that no vaper should ever try…

Chili Man

All Aboard the Trainwreck

Recently I was just minding my own business when a coworker sent me this clip. Here is a perfect example of what you would call a “trainwreck”. You don’t want to see it, but you just can’t help it. Then you watch the video, against your own will, just to see how it all turns out.

YouTube has a funny way of making us captive to stuff that we would never watch in real life, or on TV. Anyway, today we come across a man who decides to vape on some hot peppers and I know what you’re thinking, “It’s been done before. People have already vaped Sriracha sauce on the interwebs.”

Good point. However, we are not just talking about any peppers, we are talking about the hottest type of peppers in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records! They are known as the “Carolina Reaper”. (Not to be confused with the North Carolina RiP’er)

To be fair, Russell Hawkins admits to grounding up these peppers, that he grows himself, and drinking them with his morning coffee each day. However, when he takes that first puff, he is taken off-guard by the intensity of the record-breaking hotness that is Carolina Reaper. In fact, you can even see his distress upon inhaling the smell of it, when he juices up those wicks.

Immediately, Hawkins begins to hack and cough after taking that initial drag. Despite looking like he just got attacked with pepper spray, Russell proceeds to take another healthy toot off his vape. Apparently, that only intensifies his coughing and the burning sensation in his lungs.

If this wasn’t bad enough, the YouTuber then pulls out a tiny bump of crushed up peppers and sniffs it straight up his nose through a straw! He then goes on to wipe his eye, which was covered in e-liquid containing the ultra-hot peppers, instantly making his eye puffy and red.

By the end of the video, Russell looks still like he just came off a battlefield, and that part was filmed twenty minutes after the fact. He repeats one more time “do not try this at home”, this time with even more conviction, and it all seems a little bit more convincing at this point.

Fortunately he did not need medical attention, but one thing YouTuber Russell Hawkins found out was a great way to get the attention of the internet. If that was his original plan, then well done, sir! Think about it, if he was doing this solely for his own personal pleasure, then I highly doubt he would have documented the whole thing and uploaded it to YouTube.

What do you think about the video? Would you ever take the Carolina Reaper challenge? Look out for Mr. Hawkins’ e-liquid line coming soon. Unfortunately we may have to review it…

Just kidding, that is probably the last thing we need right now with these FDA deeming regs!
