Oplus E-Liquid Intro

In this article we take a look at the e-liquid range from the new Chinese e-liquid manufacturer Oplus and interview Vanky Gong, their sales representative.

When we were contacted by Oplus to test their products, they promised high quality ingredients as well as great tasting flavours. Some of the first reviews have been very positive, so we were very excited to see how Oplus could compete against other Chinese, EU and US e-liquids. Find out how they tasted below.

My brother and I have yet to come across a Chinese e-liquid that we really enjoy. Dekang and Hangsen are a few of the brands that we have tried. They offer fantastic value for money e-juice, which undoubtedly appeals to a great number of vapers. However, we have never been the biggest fans of the Chinese flavours, as some have that “perfume like” taste that my brother and I do not enjoy at all.

There also does seem to be slight negative stigma towards Chinese based e-liquids. Many are of the opinion that they cannot match US and EU made e-liquids, in terms of flavour, quality and manufacturing conditions. I do tend to agree that the Chinese based e-liquids thus far, have not been able compete on flavours and especially the blends of different flavours. However, I don’t really agree on the quality and manufacturing aspect, as I think the Chinese factories are probably just as clean and safe, perhaps even more so, than any US or EU e-liquid producers. If you haven’t already, do take a look at Pbusardos visit to China where he visits some of the factories (albeit hardware producers, not e-liquid). I just find it odd that some people say they won’t buy Chinese e-liquids because of their concern towards safety practices, but then purchase some guys DIY “premium” e-juice made in his garage or basement. Anyway let’s find out more about Oplus in our mini interview below.

Interview with Vanky Gong, Sales Representative at Oplus

Interview

Hi Vanky, thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions. First off, I would like to thank you for giving us the chance to review the Oplus e-liquids.

Question 1: Tell us a bit about Oplus E-Liquids and what sort of flavours and PG/VG ratios you have to offer.

Vanky: Oplus E-liquid is a new E-Liquid Company in China, we devote ourselves to producing some of the best e-liquids in the world. We now offer a wide range of different tobacco flavors, different fruit flavors and mint/menthol flavors. We are also improving on our mixed aromas with up to 3 and more different flavor combinations. Our PG/VG ratios are mainly 70/30, some of the mixed liquids are 40/60.

Question 2: Where do you get your ingredients and flavourings from?

Vanky: We get our flavorings from a company called “Hertz” which located in Germany, the ingredients we get from a American chemical company called “DOW Chemicals”.

Question 3: There seems to be a slight negative stigma surrounding Chinese e-liquids in the US and EU. What do you think about this bad reputation and why do you think it came to this?

Vanky: That is a very good question, many people dislike Chinese products. They think the quality is bad and because they are mass produced they think we use cheap ingredients. But not all of Chinese products are bad. I also think that people “judge a book by its front cover” when it comes to Chinese E-Liquids, and I am very sure that if most of them actually tried the liquids they would have a different opinion. But if people do dislike Chinese Chinese e-liquids, maybe it’s just not suitable for them and they have a different taste than others. So that’s way we want to change this aspect, and we hope to change the bad reputation of Chinese e-liquid manufacturing.

Question 4: What makes OPLUS different to the other Chinese competitors like Hangsen and Dekang and how will you look to improve the reputation of Chinese e-liquids?

Vanky: In fact, we are partners and competitors, we both make e-liquid. Our biggest advantage is our website and factory. We have live videos of different areas of the factory so you can see what is going on in live time. We also offer a traceability system and a 10,000 class dust-free workshop. Now to improving the bad reputation, our principle is no matter what you think of the Chinese e-liquid, we ask for nothing else but to try the liquids before you judge them negatively.

Question 5: Where can you already purchase Oplus e-liquids in the US and EU?

Vanky: We have shops from Poland, Russia, UK (The Vape Specialists), Czech Republic, Australia (E-Cig World) and India who sell our E-Liquid at this current moment.

Closing remarks: We have tried your e-liquids and really enjoyed them – the flavours were very impressive! We think that Oplus has big potential for the US/EU market. The flavours were great, the choice of flavors we had to review was phenomenal and the packaging is very nice. We wish you guys all the best and hope that the business goes well!

Vanky Gong: Thanks very much for this opportunity to make more and more people aware of our e-liquid. Like we said, where e-liquid is made is not important, the importance is how to make e-liquid. Thanks again!

Oplus does a massive range of flavors. Their website currently only shows 11 fruit flavours, 9 tobacco flavors and 9 other flavors. We were however sent some mixes that are not yet available on the site, so expect to see a lot more flavours soon. Oplus also offers 0mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg Nicotine levels.

I have to say the bottles look great and are really well packaged. They come with a good functioning childproof cap alongside a thin drip tip for easy refilling. The package has a batch number on it which can be traced on their site and the ingredients are clearly labeled. As well as selling 10ml e-liquid bottles they also offer 15, 20, 30 and 50ml bottles to customers. I haven’t seen anything larger than 10ml online yet, but we are assured the larger bottles are on their way.

Our Thoughts on the Oplus E-Liquids

As mentioned above, the big thing that we have never really liked about Chinese e-liquids is the sometimes “perfumy” taste you get. It just isn’t a natural taste for me and

thus I have never been able to enjoy their e-liquids. I was hoping that Oplus would be different, and thankfully they were!

I have to say that my brother and I were very impressed with the smooth flavors in these e-liquids. Getting their flavors from a German flavouring company has really paid off. The single flavours were delightful and vaped really smoothly. We also tried some different blends, which I believe are still in the testing phase. Most of the blends were very nice and a few were particularly interesting, with only one or two not being to our liking. I definitely look forward to seeing the finished mixes.

The PG/VG mix differs as Vanky mentions in the interview. The throat hit is really impressive even on the 6mg of Nicotine. I would love to see a 3mg option of nicotine for the drippers, as I think the 6mg was a little harsh for us when lung inhaling it on the Subtank Mini.

Verdict

Overall we were impressed with the Oplus e-liquids and they are by far the best tasting Chinese e-liquids we have come across, comparable in flavour with US and EU juices we have tried. We like that they are trying to be as transparent as possible and are sourcing high quality ingredients for their juices. There are a few little things to sort out and few areas for improvement, but I think Oplus are definitely heading in the right direction.

The e-liquids are just $2.5 on Fasttech for 10ml and at that price they are an absolute bargain and must try. If you do get a chance to try some of their flavours, do give them a go! We would love to hear what you think in the comments section below.
