SMOK AL85 kit Intro

SMOK unveils the AL85 Kit, and this xenomorph should look instantly familiar to fans of the Alien 220 mod, with similar design cues that include the signature side-fire switch and detailed OLED display.

Even though the AL85 mod borrows the top battery cap design of the Eleaf Pico, to allow simple replacement of the single 18650 battery, make no mistake: the AL85 is pure Alien.

The AL85 mod delivers 85W of power and features temperature control with TCR, a side USB port, and a large OLED which displays a ton of detailed information in both VW and TC modes, including VW/TC/MEMORY MODE, vaping effect, voltage, battery life, resistance and more.

Nearly identical in size to the Pico, the AL85 mod is a bit wider at 27mm and will eagerly accept any 25mm atomizer that you may want to use, with no overhang. Even so, many will be perfectly happy using the included 3ml Baby tank – the smallest version of SMOK’s hugely popular TFV8 Beast series of sub-ohm tanks. The kit includes two dual core coils, one 0.4Ω rated at 40-80W (pre-installed), and one 0.6Ω rated at 20-50W.

Price
The AL85 Kit is available in stainless steel, black, gunmetal, gold, blue, red, green, and rainbow, at a retail price of $49.95USD.

Looks like an Alien... only smaller

The AL85 mod is not a 220W Alien, but by bundling an uncompromising 85 watts of power with the Baby Beast, it notches up the performance of the “mini-mod” and packages it in the familiar design of the original Alien.

I expect this little Alien will pack a punch, while maintaining the same level of quality and performance we have come to expect from SMOK, especially their Alien and Beast line of products.

Can you use the USB to charge battery as I’m new to battery mod

    • Brian Carroll

Yes but you can but only use the cord that comes with it or you risk frying the mod

I just bought one of these and find that I am blowing through the coil within in 2 days… suggestions? It completely loses the flavor ??

    • Gary Joseph

Coil life can depend on several variables including your juice and frequency of use.

Dark, sweet juice will tend to gunk up coils quickly and result in loss of flavor and vapor. This will happen even more quickly if you are only using one mod/tank all day, every day, especially if you are vaping a lot.

i bought one recently also, confused with all the settings especially what temp to have it at.
My coil seems to go really quickly and it is going through juice so quickly!
I dont even vape with it that much and other vapes i have had were more efficient.

    any suggestions?

    • Gary Joseph

First off, this is a preview which means I don’t actually have the mod in hand, so I can’t guide you through any of the settings.

As far at the coil and juice – as I stated in response to Mary Woodall below:

Dark, sweet juice will tend to gunk up coils quickly and result in loss of flavor and vapor. This will happen even more quickly if you are only using one mod/tank all day, every day, especially if you are vaping a lot.

Regarding going through juice quickly, that usually depends on which coil you are using and the wattage you are vaping at. The SMOK TF series of tanks are designed to be used at higher wattage and when you vape at higher wattage you go through juice fast. The .4-ohm coil included with the kit is rated at 40-80W and the .6-ohm coil at 20-50W.

If you want to try and make your juice last longer, I would try the .6-ohm coil and start at 20W. If you want more vapor or warmth, or both – increase wattage on your mod in 10W increments until you get the vape you desire.

      • James Samuel

Cheers for that information pal… I changed my coil from .4 ohms (as it was gone anyway) to .6 and have set it on 35 watts… seems better that’s the last coil and a good vape!

Nice. Glad you got it sorted.
