Vpark Maxtank Mini and Maxtank Pro Intro

In this review we look at the V-Park Maxtank Mini and Pro sub ohm tanks. Vpark are a relatively new brand and I haven’t come across any of their products before.

The Maxtank Mini is a small sub ohm tank similar to the Kanger Subtank Nano and is 18mm in diameter and can hold 2ml of e-juice. The Maxtank Pro is a standard 22mm in diameter and can hold 2.5mm of e-juice. The tanks cost around $30-35.

We will soon be reviewing the full Vpark box mod range as well.

Notable Remarks

Vaping the Different Vpark Tanks and Coils

Vpark Maxtank Mini 0.5 Ohm Coil
Vpark Maxtank Mini 0.5 Ohm Coil

The first thing to note is that all the Vpark coils are interchangeable across both tanks. We vaped the 0.5ohm, 0.3ohm Kanthal coils and the 0.1ohm Ni200 coils. All the coils chucked huge clouds and the vapor quality was fantastic. The 0.5ohm Kanthal coil, vaped best around 40W and I enjoyed the 0.3ohm Kanthal coil most at 55W. For me the 0.3ohm coil just had the edge when it came to flavor. The flavor was superb and I was really impressed by the quality of the vape. In terms of comparison of flavor, I’d say these aren’t far off the Herakles coils. I do love the fact that the coils are thread less and can easily be swapped in and out within a couple of seconds without any fuss.

The Ni200 coil vaped well as well, but for me didn’t match the Kanthal heads in terms of flavor. It did however, chuck big clouds of vapor. The Ni200 vaped well and those who enjoy using temp control, will enjoy using this coil head that comes with the Maxtank Pro alongside a 0.3ohm Kanthal coil.

Overall, I was immensely impressed by the vape quality and the massive clouds these tanks chucked.

Top Fill with Rubber Grips

Vpark Maxtank Mini Top-Fill

The Maxtank Pro and Mini can be filled easily from the top. The top lid has two very handy little rubber grips to help you unscrew the tank. I liked these even if they do take away slightly from the aesthetics. The top fill worked well and it made re-filling really easy. I have yet to have any major leaking issues when using the top fill on either of the tanks.

Easy Swap Coil System

The Vpark Maxtanks feature an easy-swap coil system similar to the Innokin sub ohm tanks. The coils don’t have a threading, so there is no need to screw them into the tank. You simply place them in and screw on the bottom of the tank. This system works really well and makes it super easy to switch between coils even when you still have e-juice in the tank. I really enjoyed this feature.

Vape Quality

As I mentioned above both the Pro and Mini tanks and all the coils performed very well. They absolutely chuck out vapor and produce great flavor.

Two 510 Drip Tips

Both tank kits came with two drip tips. You get a metal one with an auxiliary air flow for those who like that type of drip tip. You also get a Delrin drip tip without the air flow feature, which is a nice addition to the kit.

The driptips are 510, so you can also use any other drip tips you may have with these tanks.

Flavor

The flavor, particularly on the Kanthal coils (0.5 and 0.3ohm) was really good. Now it wasn’t quite up there with the Crown or TFV4 quad coil, but it was very good. I’d say it is similar to the Herakles in terms of flavor and the vapor quality was excellent.

Airflow

The airflow on both tanks fully open is similar to the new Subtank Mini and provides and nice to direct lung draw.

Dislikes

Small Tank Capacities

The Maxtank Mini only has a 2ml tank capacity, which isn’t really a big deal as it is meant to be a mini tank. However, I was disappointed that the Maxtank Pro, which is a 22mm in diameter tank, only holds 2.5ml. I did manage to get closer to 3ml into the tank, but the capacity is still far too small, for a tank that produces so much vapor. I only got around 25 good puffs on the Maxtank Mini and 40 odd on the Pro. This means you will be constantly refilling your tanks when vaping heavily. This was for me the biggest downside to the Maxtank Pro, which I thought should have at least had a 5ml tank capacity given the huge clouds it produces.

Slightest Gap between Tank and Mod

I couldn’t get either the Maxtank Pro or Mini to sit flush on any mod. There was always the tiniest of gaps. To be fair it was hardly noticeable, but I feel it should be mentioned.

No MTL on the Maxtank Mini

Given the Maxtank Mini is such a small tank with only a 2ml e-liquid capacity, I would have liked to have had the option to close the air flow slightly and vape it with a mouth to lung draw. Even with the airflow almost fully closed off, I still find it slightly too airy for a MTL draw. I think having a MTL option for the Mini tank would have been nice, as otherwise this is just a mini sub ohm tank with a tiny e-juice capacity.

Verdict

I wasn’t expecting too much from these tanks, given that I hadn’t heard of Vpark before, but I was pleasantly surprised. These tanks vape fantastically well and produce great flavor and massive clouds. I really loved the easy swap coil system which made changing coils an absolute doddle. If Vpark can make the tank capacities slightly larger, I think these two tanks will be stellar performers. As it stands I find the tanks at 2 and 2.5ml for sub ohm tanks, which produce huge clouds, just too small, even if they do have easy to use top filling systems.

Stay tuned for our review on the Vpark box mod series.

Does it have the rba base??

    • Not that I know of, maybe they will be sold separately in the near future but for now they are not included.

This tank, even if it doesn’t perform as well as I’d have hoped – does look absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for the review fellas.
