Review

Let’s start with what the V-Box 150W TC, V-Box 100W TC, V-Box 50W TC models and V-Box 30W have in common, then we’ll look at what separates them. All four devices feature a spring loaded 510 connection, LCD display, rocker switch for adjusting settings, and a fire button.

V-Box 150, 100 and 50 TC

The three TC mods feature a four position dial for power and settings. The V-Box TCs run on 18650 batteries. with the V-Box 50W running on a single 18650 and the V-Box 100W and 150W running on two 18650s. All four Box mods vape well, even though these are simple frills free devices.

The V-Box 50W is the only of the TC models to feature battery charging, but doesn’t work as a passthrough without a battery.

V-Box 30

The Box 30 also features a 1000mah battery, which is not bad for a mod a bit slimmer than a quarter’s diameter., and slightly taller than two quarters’ diameter. The Box 30 features a manual on off slide switch.

Closing

Beyond the minor differences in the V-Box TC mods, the only real difference seems to be battery life and total wattage output, but this also makes it easy to choose, as all that really matters is weight size and how much power we need. All four units are easy to use, with a no frills, straight forward design, suited for new vapors.

Notable Remarks

The Look

The look is simple, a painted housing with polished metal top and bottom, with controls and LCD on one side. Function over purely aesthetic looks, seems to have been the design choice.

The Feel

The slim design of the V-Box TC and V-Box 30 mods, help to fit hands comfortably. My first complaint, the ridges that run down the length to help protect the glass covering the LCD. As they didn’t round it off towards the base, as they did near the four position dial, it can scrape across fingers, but only in a discomforting way. (no harm came to my fingers) My only other complaint about the feel is the latch for the battery compartment, with lack of a spring loaded door, I had to use my fingernail to retract the latch while also pulling the door open. Sometimes my nail would snag a bit in the latch release, which I’d like to see improved.

How Does It Vape?

Vaping wise the units do a good job, simply set the wattage and temperature by turning the dial to the setting we want to change, and once all is set, simply set it to the on position and enjoy the vape. When it comes to the atomizer resistance, the detection seems a little on the low side, but can be adjusted for by running higher temperatures.

Who Is This For?

VPARK seems to have new vapers in mind with hassle free controls and easy to to check settings on the LCD. With a set it and forget it design, anyone can use the V-Box TC and V-Box 30 mods with minimal instruction.

Likes

While I consider myself a power user, I do like the ease of the four position dial for quickly adjusting settings and locking those settings in, vs the now standard menu driven systems. I also prefer rockers over the up and down buttons found on most devices.

  • Ease of use
  • Temperature control (TC models only)
  • USB charging (TC 50 and Box 30 only)

Dislikes

I did have some issues with the V-Box 100 and 150 TC when it came to batteries, I found it very difficult to get them to latch, and hope to see some redesign of the latch. The V-Box 100W TC I received also seems to have a short, as it fired even when turned to off. If this should happen to you, remove the batteries immediately, and contact the vendor. I also found the doors to have a bit of looseness when opened, and it didn’t feel very sturdy compared to the other parts. So, I broke a door off non functional V-Box 100W TC, to see how much force it would take, and honestly, a good drop while the door is open, might bend the pins slightly, but should be fine otherwise. I was a bit disappointed that they did not use a steel pin for simple repair in such a case that the door does break.

  • Lack of commonly found controls
  • Door latches could be better (TC models only)
  • Door Hinges don’t have a replaceable pin (easier to repair)
  • Resistance detection isn’t very accurate

Verdict

Simple to use, but sacrificing some features for that ease of use. With the lack of accuracy on coil resistance, some testing will be needed to find the sweet spot, even on your favorite tanks. While I find the price on the high side for what these products deliver, I don’t feel it’s so high to warrant ignoring these mods. I feel that the V-Box 150, 100 and 50 TC, are decent mods for people that are new to vaping. Likewise, people that like to carry their mod in their pocket, due to their ease of turning on and off. The V-Box 30W, while even simpler than the others, makes for a great backup mod, giving a few hours of vaping in a very compact design. I can’t say how well it holds up to heat or cold, but I can definitely see this being stored in a car for emergency, or just tossing in a pocket instead of batteries.
