JustCBD Review

JustCBD is a recent addition to the CBD industry. They state that their mission is to provide high-quality CBD products with honest and transparent business practices. Their products are made with 99% pure CBD isolate, and contain no THC. They’re also vegan, non-GMO and organic.

JustCBD recently sent us an assortment of products that we’ll be testing out: CBD vape juices, terpenes and crystal isolate. They also have other varieties available like edibles, honey, CBD oil tinctures, cartridges, doobies and even CBD-infused dog treats and sprays.

JustCBD currently has four flavors available. They sent us every flavor in 60 mL bottles containing 250 mg CBD each. I used them in two sub ohm tanks, each with the same 0.4-ohm TFV8-compatible coil head (one for the fruity flavors, the other for the desserts.) I also let some of my friends and family try it out.

I like how they did an even split between fruits and desserts but I enjoyed their fruity varieties a lot more because they were more convincing. Pineapple Express was my favorite because it has such a fresh and natural tangy flavor. OG reminded me of watermelon bubblegum, and came in a real close second. Their fruity flavors were spot on and not too sweet. The aftertaste is minimal since they are each made with pure CBD isolate.

The two dessert flavors were fine, but not my favorites. They were a bit too sweet for my liking. Blue Dream was the more enjoyable one of the two. The Girl Scout Cookies had a prominent maple syrup flavor. I didn’t enjoy it but a lot of my friends did. If you want something less sugary and more natural-tasting, go with their fruity flavors.

The effects with 250 mg CBD are subtle but noticeable, especially when using a sub ohm tank. After a few big puffs I suddenly felt more relaxed, and a slight euphoric sensation. Many of the benefits to using cannabidiol are not noticeable right away. CBD can relieve symptoms from anxiety, pain or more severe conditions like nerve disorders and depression. According to independent lab testing, JustCBD e-juice contains no THC and the CBD dosage is portrayed accurately.

The name of each flavor is inspired by actual cannabis strains, but not necessarily extracted from that particular one. CBD isolate is listed as the source of cannabidiol, so the effects will be pretty consistent. Unless of course you mix them with strain-specific terpene oils…

JustCBD Terpenes

Price: $30 per 1 mL bottle

Every true cannabis connoisseur knows about terps. But did you know that terpenes occur everywhere in nature, not just in cannabis and hemp? They give every plant their own unique smell and taste. Terpenes also work synergistically with cannabinoids, whether it be CBD or THC, to alter their effects. So two strains with the same cannabinoid content can produce entirely different experiences. That’s why we have classifications for indicas, sativas and hybrids. They’re based on terpene profiles.

JustCBD has six varieties of terpene oil, extracted from different hybrid hemp strains. Each one has slightly different effects and benefits, which are listed on the back of the packaging. I cannot speak to the actual cannabinoid content of these terpene oils. It is not listed anywhere on the package or their website — and the test results are still pending. I will update this review as soon as that information becomes available.

The JustCBD strain-specific terpenes come in a glass jar with a rubber stopper that requires a needle-tip dropper to use. Each of them has its own loud herbal scent — as you would expect with hemp-extracted terpenes. My top picks were Girl Scout Cookies, OG Kush and Northern Lights. White Widow was probably my least favorite of the six — it smelled too pungent for me.

I did attempt vaping some pure terpene oil using a mouth to lung device. It was pretty intense, and I noticed a slight cooling sensation to them. I also felt the effects of euphoria and relaxation kick in after only a few puffs. If you are going to vape terpenes straight, which I don’t recommend, use either a pod vape or an MTL vape tank. I think they taste better when combined with CBD (or THC) e-juice. Plus, they’ll probably be more effective because of what is known as the entourage effect.

Next, I mixed some Pineapple Express e-juice (250 mg CBD) with the Northern Lights terpenes. They tasted surprisingly good together, even with the slight cooling sensation. The terpene flavor was still dominant, but it blended nicely with the fresh pineapple flavor.

According to the package, I’m supposed to feel relaxed, euphoric, happy, sleepy and uplifted. The relaxation and euphoria are the most noticeable effects. As for the others, my overall mood is relatively calm and I don’t feel anxious. I’m also starting to yawn and feel a bit sleepy because I have taken in a good amount of cannabidiol today.

JustCBD Isolate

JustCBD sent us a gram of their CBD crystal isolate to try out. It’s probably the same kind they use to produce their vape juice and edibles. The best part about isolate is that it has multiple usages. It can be taken sublingually, vaped, dabbed, eaten, etc. CBD isolate is perfect for making edibles. It doesn’t have much of a taste, so it can be added to any of your favorite existing e-liquids, preferably ones with 0 mg nicotine.

The gram of JustCBD isolate comes in a clear plastic jar. I put a little bit under my tongue and noticed that it doesn’t have much of a taste, aside from a slight bitterness. I dropped a tiny amount into my dab pen, right on the coil, and it worked. I noticed a faint earthy flavor and the effects were noticeable right away. The most intense experience would be using it with a dab rig or e-nail.

My favorite use for CBD isolate is making edibles. All you do is melt the crystals into some butter and continue with your usual recipes. It’s perfect for adding cannabidiol to cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, candies, seven-course meals, etc.

The only issue I have with the crystal isolate is the label. The package reads “99.9% pure, lab tested” but the lab results show it to be 99.2% CBD. That’s close, but not accurate. To their credit, their website describes the isolate as “at least 99% pure,” which is in accordance to the lab results. In any case, I would like for either the test results to show 99.9% CBD, or for more accurate labelling. That being said, 99.2% is still impressive to me.

Verdict

My favorite JustCBD product is their Pineapple Express vape oil. I enjoyed mixing it with terpenes (OG Kush and Girl Scout Cookies) to create some rather interesting blends. The terpenes make a nice companion to their e-juice, allowing you to tweak your experience through terpene augmentation. I also enjoyed their crystal isolate because it opens up a world of possibilities from dabbing to making edibles.

Overall, I was satisfied with the JustCBD products that we received. The quality was consistent. It tasted good and the packaging was clean and professional. I like how they publish third-party lab results on their website for the public. I look forward to seeing lab tests for those terpene oils and would appreciate if they updated the label on their CBD isolate or have it re-tested. That’s all I can complain about. JustCBD seem to be doing a real good job so far, especially for a newcomer to the CBD industry.
