Product intro and specs

The Hexa V2 by Hexavapor is a compact beginner vape that takes 1.7 mL prefilled pods in two strengths, 10 and 20 mg. It is available online in UK and Dutch websites, and in a variety of B&Ms in the EU.

There are two things that set the Hexa V2 apart from most of its competition. Firstly, the heating element used is FEELM, a type of ceramic that is performing great in prefilled pods. On top of that, Hexavapor is using hybrid nic in their liquids, which is a mix of regular nicotine and nicotine salts.

In theory, the Hexa pods should hit harder than nicotine salt pods, while also being smoother than regular nicotine ones. Does the Hexa V2 strike the perfect balance between the two? Keep reading to find out.

Size, weight, and feel

The Hexa V2 weighs in at just 22.5 grams with a full pod inserted. Measuring at 108 mm x 20 mm x 11 mm, it is also one of the most pocketable vapes around. It is very similar in size, weight and shape to the myblu, a very popular beginner vape we recently reviewed.

Even factoring in the fact that it’s made out of plastic, the Hexa V2 feels like a well-built product. The paintjob is solid, and the magnets that hold the pods in place are strong enough to make sure that you’re not going to have any surprises.

The device comes in only one color option, and it seems that Hexavapor was going for a clean and inconspicuous design, which many vapers are going to appreciate. Some of us wished that they didn’t add this black arrow shape in the front, but that’s certainly up to taste.

All things considered, the Hexa V2 is a product that’s going to appeal to many beginners from a design and build quality perspective.

Getting started

Opening the starter kit you’ll see the Hexa V2 battery, a 20 mg Tobacco pod, a micro USB cable and a two-page leaflet with instructions and additional information.

Like most prefilled vapes out there, the Hexa V2 is very easy to operate.

You may want to fully charge the device before first use, but chances are it will arrive in your hands with the battery almost full.

The Hexa V2 is one of the rare beginner vapes that come with translucent pods, so monitoring e-liquid levels is super easy. Just turn it upside down and you’ll know if it’s time to replace the pod.

How does it hit?

The draw of the Hexa V2 is very tight and closely mimics the draw of a cigarette. It has one of the most satisfying draws we have encountered on a beginner vape, and smokers will feel right at home with it.

When it comes to throat hit, the Hexa and its FEELM heating element strike a very good balance between vapes that use regular nicotine and nicotine salts. It doesn’t hit as hard as the regular nicotine pods of the myblu or the Bo One, but its 20 mg pods give a more satisfying hit than any 20 mg salt pod we have tried to date. What was surprising was the hit of the 10 mg Frosted Raspberry pod, which makes good use of the cooling agent and provides a comparable hit to the 20 mg editions of the rest of the flavors.

Those of us on the team who are all about throat hit were not blown away by the hit of the Hexa pods. But the ones who enjoy the smoother hit of nic salts appreciated the way Hexavapor implemented the hybrid nicotine. Note that you may need to start with some short primer puffs to get the most out of the Hexa V2, which is to be expected with most draw-activated devices on the market.

The vapor is a bit cooler than what we expected, and the vapor production is just alright for the type of draw of the device. But we didn’t experience any dry hits, and outside of a couple of drops through the mouthpiece, we didn’t have any issues with leaking, spitting or popping.

Are the flavors any good?

Flavors is where the Hexa V2 shines. We tried four out of the six available flavors and none of them disappointed.

Tobacco

The Hexa V2 Tobacco is not one of these sweet caramel-vanilla tobaccos that come with most beginner vapes out there. It is a slightly spicy, real tobacco flavor that’s not too intense and can easily work as an all-day vape. Some of us loved it, others found it alright, but we all agree that it is a great option for transitioning smokers.

Tobacco Menthol

That’s the Hexa V2 tobacco with a menthol cooling sensation. There’s maybe a hint of a mint flavor here but it’s not that pronounced. This flavor is clearly aimed towards menthols smokers, and it doesn’t disappoint at that. If you have been smoking menthols, make sure you add some of that to your cart.

Dewy’s Frosted Raspberry

More of a mixed berry flavor than straight raspberry, this one also comes with a fair amount of cooling. Some of us found the frost element to be a bit too much, but others really enjoyed using this pod in between the other flavors for a refreshing vape. Plus, we all liked the fruity part of the flavor and the harder hit that came with the cooling effect.

Dewy’s Mango

This one was the office’s favorite. A great mango flavor with balanced sweetness, it’s one of the best mango flavors available on a beginner vape. Even if you don’t love mango in real life, we suggest giving Dewy’s Mango a go. We don’t know who Dewy is, but he nailed it with the mango, and we will sure need some more of these pods at the office.

All in all, these are hands down some of the best flavors we have tried on a prefilled vape. Outside of the stellar Mango pod, ranking the others is a matter of personal preference. But as a line-up, The Hexa V2 comes with some of the most balanced and well-crafted options out there. We didn’t try the Menthol and Blueberry pods, but judging from the four we tried, we are confident that they won’t disappoint either.

Battery life and charging

The Hexa V2 has a 350 mAh battery, which is just about average for a compact vape in this category. We expected around a full pod on a charge and it managed to go through a little bit less than that. Battery life is not stellar but it’s not bad either.

The device charges through the micro USB port that’s placed at the bottom of the battery. We timed a full charge at appx. 60 minutes. We wished it charged a bit faster, but it supports pass-thru, so you can vape on it while it is charging.

There’s no battery level indication on this device, which is certainly a con. The green LED that lights up when you vape will start flashing when the device is out of charge. The light stays on when the Hexa is plugged in and turns off when it is fully charged.
