Remember the Esquare? It wasn’t actually square but it was pretty close. More importantly, it housed the DNA 40 chip by good ol’ Evolv. When the DNA 200 came out, Lost Vapes didn’t miss a beat, quickly creating the Efusion box mod. Not much has changed on the outside, save for the size. The classic carbon fiber design remains, which is what made the original Esquare stand out. I was highly skeptical at first about the whole 200-watt thing but that aside, this chip gives me one of the smoothest and most consistent vapes I have ever experienced. My friends who are non-vapers have casually tried my Efusion and without me giving any explanation, and they were impressed by how smooth it was. I personally think the chip is by far one of the most advanced on the market. Click here to explore other DNA 200 devices.
Two words: carbon fiber. Need I say more? If you are a sucker for carbon fiber like me, then you probably already have a few devices with this awesome design. The anodized metal casing makes the carbon fiber panels pop, and gives it a robust, yet stylish look. The form factor is quite nice, it feels great in the hand, despite the fact that it is neither small or light. I have not yet dropped it, and don’t plan on doing so, but it feels solid enough to take a beating. The buttons are comfortable to push, and the screen, like any DNA 200 mod, is super bright and easy to read. The one I received happens to be red, but if you look on the website you will probably agree that it looks equally awesome in just about every color. Not a huge fan of the gold one but even the green one looks badass. I could picture Grimm Green rocking that.
Did I mention that it has the DNA 200 chip in it? Oh yea I did. Well, that says a lot about the performance. If you have ever tried a DNA device, you know they are rockin’, and I’m not just talking about in temp mode. I have said this before, and I’ll say it again, but I am personally not a huge fan of temp control. However, I have been using temperature mode with the Uwell Rafale’s stainless steel coils mostly for the purpose of this review. I had some good moments with it, not gonna lie, but overall I just prefer manually adjusting my wattage. In any event, if you are discouraged from buying a DNA 200 device because you are not a big fan of using temp control, think again. That is only one of many features, just like most cars have cruise control. You don’t have to use it to be able to enjoy a nice new car. Similarly, the DNA 200 lives up to it’s high performance expectations, even in regular wattage mode.
If you are interested in using temperature control, then you are gonna love this! The Escribe software allows you to fully customize every aspect of vaping straight from your PC! Just plug it in and download the software. In temp control you can actually insert custom wire settings straight from the Steam Engine app, based on the type of material you are using. Another great feature is the ability to adjust the heating curve, so your coils heat up faster or slower. I did enjoy using the Rafale tank at around 490 degrees Fahrenheit with a .3 ohm coil. At the end of the day, nothing beats blasting out Kanthal dual claptons with 50 watts of raw power, but to each his own. Evolv continues to innovate and lead the way in vaping technology.
There really isn’t much to learn, especially if you are using the Escribe software. Once you figure that out, everything becomes self-explanatory. Changing profiles and adjusting temperature requires some basic knowledge of how to operate the device using the three buttons. Locking the power gives you access to adjusting your temperature on the fly, and locking the watts gives you access to your profiles created in Escribe. This can get a little annoying at first, but once you find your ideal settings, you are now “locked and loaded”.
Note: I honestly had to be extra picky in order to find cons about this product. Nothing is perfect, so the only thing I feel that they could have possibly improved was the battery life and ergonomics. Other than that, this mod is fantastic!
I have a nice little collection of mods, but when I take my Efusion outside, it turns a lot of heads. I even get vape shop workers asking me questions about it! (Many of them don’t get excited about anything anymore, since they see all of the latest products every single day.) This mod is definitely special, and although not cheap, I believe it is worth the purchase. If you are looking for a long term, high-end, durable piece with a built in LiPo pack that is actually user-swappable, then this might be the one for you. So far I have used it with quite a few atomizers both in temp and wattage mod and it continues to give me a pleasurable experience each time. Try it with your favorite atty and I bet it will take it to the next level. If you want a DNA 200 mod, but still want to stand out from the rest, look into the Efusion!
These flew off the shelf, but not as fast as the Duo!
I have the Triad and it’s great.. Lost Vape is a total no show however when it comes to suport.. .
What I really want some insight on, is why most of the great DNA products seem to be one and done production runs? Try getting your hands on most of the DNAs that have been reviewed by V360 and you’ll just get frustrated.
