V2 Pro Series 3 Intro

V2 are the largest online seller of electronic cigarettes worldwide and sell all across the world. They have a dedicated, UK, German, French, Czech and US sites and are looking to expand further in the future.

V2 sell every kind of electronic cigarette imaginable from minis to vaporizers. Their vast range of products alongside high quality engineering sets them apart from other brands.

In this review we will be looking at the V2 pro series 3 vaporizer pen (3 in 1 vape pen). The V2 Pro Series 3 has now launched in the UK as well. Have a look at it here.

The “V2 Pro” line of products is an entirely new range by V2, focusing purely on high quality vaporizers. The Pro Series 3 is the first of the 3 product range. The Series 7 will follow at the end of 2014 and 9 will follow later in 2015. If the Series 3 is anything to go by the next two should be pretty spectacular.

The Series 3 is a “3 in 1” vape pen. This means it can vape e-liquids, waxes/oils and lastly “dry herbs”. The series 3 vaporizer comes with an e-liquid tank which smoothly snaps into place with a magnet. The loose leaf tank needs to be purchased separately but is a must for anyone who likes to indulge in loose leaf vaporizing. The loose leaf tank heats up to 160°C – 180°C, which makes it ideal for vaping those leafs without actually burning them. Check out the video above to see the vape pen in action.

Notable Remarks

We were really impressed with this 3 in 1 Vaporizer. Its design and functionality are second to none. We like its versatility, giving users the option to use a tank for vaping e-juice or another tank for vaping “dry leaf” – although this tank needs to be purchased separately.

Another feature which was really nice and unique was the magnetic connections. The USB charger connects to the bottom of the Vaporizer by magnet and the e-liquid tank also connects into the vaporizer using a magnetic connection (see below). We really liked this feature, as I find having to screw tanks onto a device slightly annoying and time consuming. The magnetic connections gave the device a touch of class and quality that you don’t get on similar devices to this.

The battery life on the V2 pro series 3 was another plus and we have used it on and off for last 3 days now and it is still going. The design, size and weight were impressive. The vaporizer is small and very lightweight and has a luxurious feel and look to it. You can also turn the device fully off with three clicks of the LED lit button, which is a good safety feature which is useful when traveling.

Dislikes

Hard to find any negatives with the V2 Pro Series 3 Vaporizer as it’s a really sleek, innovative and versatile device. The only negative for us was the drag and its relatively high resistance. It felt like you had to inhale quite hard to use it. For some people this might be their preference, but we prefer a slightly lighter drag.

Verdict

Overall the V2 pro series 3 is a unique high quality vaping device, which is perfect for any level of vaper and for those who are looking to have a cheeky “dry leaf” vape! The first device in the V2 Pro line of products, matches the performance of any ego electronic cigarette model on the market. On top of this it adds that extra versatility with its capability of switching to the dry leaf tank. This is why the Pro Series 3 is our number one ranked ego e-cig!

Having read some other reviews, some people are saying that “they will purchase this for the rest of their lives”. Not sure about that, as V2 are following up with a variable voltage version called the Series 7, due to come out towards the end of this year. We cannot wait for the Series 7 as V2 have already laid down a marker, with the amazing Series 3. We will be reviewing the Series 7 as soon as it is on the market, so stay tuned!

Suggested Additional Purchases

The V2 Pro Series 3 Vaporizer kit doesn’t come with any e-liquid so you need to purchase these separately. Be sure to check out V2’s great line of premium  platinum e-liquids, which are some of the purest and high quality around. If you want to use the vaporizer to smoke “dry leaf” you need to purchase a separate dry leaf tank. We would also recommend purchasing a wall adapter to make charging easier. As the kit only comes with one tank we suggest purchasing extra tanks. The V2 pro series 3 tanks last for around 7 days with medium use and then need to be fully replaced, so be sure to add a few extra tanks into your cart when you buy the Pro Series 3 kit.

So, not much to say. I think my comment review says it all, vapour production is great, taste is great and the battery life is crazy. Loving the fluid design, one of the big negatives my old ego had. I know what you mean by “harsh drag”, could be a bit lighter for my likings. Great review, literally made me buy the pro series.

    • Alex at TBEC Review

Yeah, the drag is harsh. Fluid design is a big PLUS for the V2 Pro Series 3. Great, glad you enjoyed it!

I ordered their V2 Pro Series 3 and loose leaf cartridge back on February 6th of this year. They shipped me the basic unit without the loose leaf cartridge because apparently it was on backorder. No mention of this on the paperwork shipped with my product. The only indication of anything was them using a blue highlighter over the loose leaf cartridge listed on my packing list. When I called and waited 20 minutes to talk to someone they told me it was on backorder (because notifying me with what they shipped would have been too hard) for 15 business days. In case you’re wondering what 15 business days is it’s 3 weeks. But 15 business days sounds a lot sooner right? Well here we are after 20+ business days (over a month now) and I still don’t have the cartridge. This is my first experience with this company and it will be my last.

    • Thanks for sharing this J.J. I am very sorry to hear that and that is pretty shoddy of V2. I hope this this is a one off and not a recurring theme. Did you ever get the loose leaf cartridge?

      • J.J. Mills

        Nope! 🙁

Let me email them and see what I can do. Can you send me your order number?

    • longreach

The same thing happened to me but I eventually did get the loose leaf cartridge. It felt like an eternity! They didn’t notify me that it was on back order, either. I waited two weeks then contacted them that I had not gotten my shipment.

This system leaks. Leaked out the charging end of the pen. Battery gets flaky. I’ve gone through 6 tanks, sorry, they leak, and yes I filled them properly. Yesterday one of my pens got so hot I could not remove the tank. I’ve had the ring inside the pen that the tank makes contact with come right out with the tank. I have one tank the mouth piece came off. And yes they are harsh. I have even had the top of the tank come off. Took me a while to figure out why I smelled like e-liquid, leaked in my pants pocket and stained my shirt pocket.

    • Alex

I’ve got the same problem with the top coming off. At the moment the liquid cartridge is stuck in there as the magnetic grip is stronger than the force required to remove the top part.

      • Can you try and take the liquid cart out using the glass areas?

  • longreach

The best feature is that the unit conserves loose leaf so well, that my budget for loose leaf was halved compared to conventional smoking. The worst feature seems to be that the glue holding the magnetic ring eventually failed as well as the top ring of the cartridges also falls apart quite quickly. Poor glue quality, too bad! The draw is very tight, but works great with a long slow light draw you can get a decent cloud. Chamber holds about 6 hits, so perfect for stealth smoking.
