Vapefly MTL RDA intro
The list of affordable mouth-to-lung (MTL) RDA’s is a very short one. Now Vapefly has set out to prove that you can have a quality MTL dripper in your arsenal without breaking the bank. Vapefly, a Chinese company established in 2017, started strong with their Nicolas MTL, a stock-coil tank that was praised by the community for its performance. Their latest offering is an RDA designed with the MTL vaper in mind and all signs point towards it being a solid product.

An affordable MTL RDA
The Vapefly Galaxies, which will hit the market later this month, promises a high degree of airflow adjustability using a unique design. The stars of the RDA are its airflow options, which are also depicted as planets on the RDA’s logo. Planets…Galaxies…got it?
The single-coil RDA has three airflow holes on each side, ranging from 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm. The user can have only the smaller hole open, or add the other two one by one, using the RDA’s step-airflow design. In addition, two screws (one on each side of the build deck) can be used to completely shut the side’s airflow channel, giving an extra opportunity for airflow customization. From 0.8 mm airflow on one side to 3.5 mm on each side, the airflow options of this RDA will require some trial and error, but all signs point towards a tailor-made draw experience.
Vapefly has also reduced the chamber size significantly by housing a beefy build deck in the RDA. This allows for a 22 mm design without any loss of flavor or throat hit. The Vapefly Galaxies MTL RDA also includes a squonk pin. Its top cap and drip tip are both made out of PMMA or Delrin (depending on the color) to avoid overheating. In the package you will also find four pre-made Ni80 coils – a couple of 26-gauge micro coils and a couple of fused claptons (that look nothing like fused claptons in Vapefly’s provided photos). In any case, if you are looking for an MTL build, the exotic coils are of little use – but they may be useful if you’re aiming for more open airflow.
Contrary to popular belief, merely shutting the airflow down does not make any atty MTL-worthy. Vapefly seems to know that, and appears to have checked all the MTL boxes. With more than a couple of tight draw options, a 22 mm diameter with a reduced chamber, and a single-coil deck, the Vapefly Galaxies MIGHT be the most promising RDA for MTL vapers on a budget available right now.
