Always Be Prepared
You never know when you’ll get a chance to advocate, so be ready! American Vaping Association president Gregory Conley was on his way to meet with Congressional representatives in Washington Wednesday when he accidentally ran into US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy outside the Cannon House Office Building. Never one to miss a chance to speak up for vaping, Conley delivered an impromptu presentation to the doctor.
Dan Donahue of Good Karma Vapor in Saddle Brook, NJ, posted several shots of the chance encounter on his Facebook page, along with a good description. “Like a mongoose on a mouse, Gregory identified the US Surgeon General, and politely curb sided him with a perfectly executed presentation of our mission. Serendipitously he was carrying a copy of the Royal College of Physicians THR report. It was genius.”
So vapers, follow Greg’s example and always carry a copy of the RCP report. You never know when you’ll have a chance to put it to good use. Seriously though, anyone who works as hard as Greg promoting sensible regulation and legislation of vaping deserves some good luck once in a while. While the conversation may not sway the skeptical Surgeon General, we can be sure that he heard a balanced and passionate presentation. No one does a better job promoting the benefits of vaping than Greg.
