First Look: Artery Vapor Nugget Box Mod and Gold Rush Kit

This is a first look at the Artery Vapor Gold Rush Kit. We haven’t come across any Artery Vapor products before, but this looks like a pretty amazing tiny little set-up. The Gold Rush kit is made up of the Nugget box mod and the 49er tank.

The Nugget is the tiniest TC box mod I have seen to date – it is ridiculously small! It is roughly the same size, if not just a bit smaller than the COV Mini Volt. However, the Nugget mod can fire up to 50W and support both Ni and Ti in temperature control mode. The Nugget will also have firmware that you will be able to upgrade via mini USB. Apparently by upgrading the firmware on the Nugget you will also be able to use Stainless Steel coils in temperature control mode – nice!

The 49er tank is a 22mm diameter sub ohm tank. The 49er tank is a top filling tank, with juice flow control that holds  around 3.5ml of e-juice. The tank comes with one Kanthal APC coil and one Ni200 coil, marked with a red o-ring. The 49er coils use organic cotton.

This kit looks pretty amazing. The battery is only 1000mAh, but the kit itself is so so small. We can’t find any prices on the Artery Vapor Gold Rush Kit yet, but I am sure we will be seeing this mod stocked by quite a few vendors soon!

Nice! Not sure about that 1000mh battery though. That will last me like 30 minutes, tops. If it had a replaceable battery, then I’d go for it because I always carry a backpack and switching batteries on the go is easy. Maybe they can fit an 18350 battery in there instead of the lipo pack?

    • I actually think that and 18350 would be too big. It actually lasts quite a bit at lower wattages, I vaped it the whole day yesterday (at around 15 watts). Vaping it on 50Ws will drain it very quickly though.

I got as a gift and need some help there is not manual online that I can see. If I changed the coil, primed it with juice and have it set at 20w and its still taste burnt what is the problem? Also how do I Change modes and what are optimal settings other than I was told not to go over 30w. I’m using 50/50.

        • What resistance coil do you have and what is the nugget reading the coil at?

I’m having same problem…first off – why isn’t there an online manual anywhere. I think I left mine at the vape shop a few weeks ago, and I haven’t found the time to go back. The manual is probably long gone by now. Second…the guy at the vape shop primed my first coil, and I watched him for future reference. I also watched a youtube video on how to prime the coil. So I think I did it right. I saturated it until literally juice was flowing everywhere. Saturated through the two holes also. Took a few hits without the battery on I guess to draw up the juice into the cotton (whatever than means…just following directions). Now, no matter what wattage (I am using PM mode), I get a funny cottony taste that was not apparent before. I’ve tried turning down the airflow and taking longer drags…no difference. I am hoping that it will just wear off, and it’s not real overwhelming, but the burn taste is apparent. Last…I switched coils in hopes that my unit would stop leaking. I’ve been very, very frustrated with leakage, even after maxing out with VG mix. I was hoping something was wrong with my other coil. So far, I’ve not seen any leakage with my new coil, but I just changed it out within 24 hours. So that is promising, but I am still concerned. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

One more thing…sorry. I have used coils with a black o-ring and whitened tip. But I also have several coils with red o-rings and white tip. I am assuming that coils with red o-rings are for temperature control. How do I use temperature control? There really needs to be an online manual posted. Thanks again.

Last thing, I promise. At any wattage, I am seeing 0.00 V and 0.56 ohms of resistance. Just FYI because I saw you ask that above. Not sure what the rated resistance of the coil is, but the packaging says, “Artery Vapor 49er APC Kantha…”

i noticed my battery is not lasting more than 40 minutes it’s driving me crazy to where i’m keeping track of how many pulls i can get off it . i don’t know if i purchased a dud or what .but i’m wondering if at 25 volts how long a good battery should last on average ? i purchased an aspire vape pen where the batter was bad when i got and they replaced for me . i’m hoping i can get a replacement with this one if after trying different settings , it’s still draining quickly. most companies are very good with customer service and i love my little nugget

I bought one of these little units last month and they do quite a good job. I didn’t realize when I took my first drag on this that the default setting is 50W. Man, did my lungs take a pounding on that one. LOL. (I went from a Kangertech Evod pen). I find 20-25W works best for me. Trial and error. Coils last longer and so does the juice.
