Sigelei Swallowtail Intro
Sigelei has announced their soon to be available 75A Swallowtail mod. Let’s get the obvious out of the way up front:
Like it’s namesake, this is a beautifully contoured, colorful mod. The smooth, rounded shape is complimented by three eye-catching finish choices: stabilized wood, resin, and splatter painted aluminum. Each Swallowtail is a unique visual stunner that looks like it will be a pleasure to hold, and should slip easily into your pocket, purse, or pack.
The smallish Swallowtail is a 77W box that accepts a single 18650 battery and does everything we’ve come to expect: power mode, temp control mode, high/low voltage and overheat protection, reverse polarity protection, and can be charged and updated via the front-mounted micro USB connector.

Fresh and exciting… aesthetics
Let’s be honest: it feels like vaping has reached a bit of a plateau, with nothing is really groundbreaking on the technology front (like DNA boards, temp control, etc). One way to keep things fresh is to repackage the same technology in exciting ways, and it looks like Sigelei gets it right with the Swallowtail. The copper finished resin mod showcased at their site is extraordinary in it’s visual appeal. Even the splatter painted version, which is a bit played, has a funky-cool vibe (thankfully – there is no Zombie Edition).
But to me, the real standout in this kaleidoscope of Swallowtails is the stabilized wood version. If you have owned or yearned for a stabilized wood box then you know they come at a price, with most reaching the $400-$500 range, with several much higher than that! It’s nice to see Sigelei doing what China does best by offering affordable luxury to the masses – and the Swallowtail has already been seen at a pre-order price of about $70USD, which makes it the most affordable stabilized wood mod we’ve seen to date.
