Eleaf iCare Preview

The Eleaf iCare is a simple box mod aimed at beginning vapers. It looks like a "pod" device, but it allows vapers to use their own e-liquid.

Pod Vape in Disguise

The Eleaf iCare looks like a vaping device that uses pods, but it is most certainly not a “closed-system device.” While several companies are releasing “pod vapes” in order to try to appease the FDA in America, Eleaf has served up a simple vaping device that’s aimed at beginners and allows them to use any e-liquid. Here’s a closer look at the Eleaf iCare.

As you’ve probably figured out from the specs, the Eleaf iCare is aimed at smokers making the transition to vaping. It will not crank out crazy vapor or intense flavor. It’s meant as a starter device to be used with high-nicotine e-liquid. I love that Eleaf is rounding out its lineup — largely comprised of enthusiast vaping devices — with an all-in-one meant for beginners.

The Eleaf iCare could even make a great secondary device for enthusiast vapers. I know quite a few hardcore vapers that also carry a Pax Juul, just for a quick blast of high-nicotine e-liquid. This device could serve the same purpose, but with a more familiar form factor to longtime vapers.

Best of all, the Eleaf iCare is quite affordable. I've seen pre-orders in the $17-$25 range.

Aesthetically, the Eleaf iCare is compact and cute. It looks like an enthusiast box mod that got zapped by a shrink ray. With a good selection of colors, vapers should be able to find one that appeals to them. On the functionality side, you’ll notice that the device doesn’t have a firing button. Instead, you simply inhale and the box automatically powers up. This type of functionality will appeal to those just starting out with vaping.

On paper, the Eleaf iCare looks like a fantastic device for beginners. It’s simple and easy to use. Best of all, it’s quite affordable. I’ve seen pre-orders in the $17-$25 range. With such a low price, hopefully it can convince many smokers to give vaping a try.
