The Ultimo Warrior
The Joyetech Ultimo is the latest sub-ohm tank from one of the oldest and most established vaping companies in the world. In conjunction with the atomizer, Joyetech has released the MG Series of replaceable coils. While there doesn’t appear to be anything geared towards mouth-to-lung vapers, pretty much every other type of vaper is covered with the Ultimo and MG Series coils. Here’s a closer look at Joyetech’s latest and greatest.

Ultimo Tank Dimensions and Design
The Joyetech Ultimo is a medium-sized sub-ohm tank that’s larger than the many two mL tanks on the market and smaller than behemoths like the SMOK TFV8. It’s 55 millimeters tall with a 22 millimeter diameter. It has an e-liquid capacity of four milliliters.
I absolutely love how the Ultimo looks. The design is blessedly simple, giving it an elegant style.
The Ultimo features liberal airflow and juice flow. This makes it more suitable for modern vapers and cloud chasers that will appreciate the ample vape it provides. Those that like the classic vaping style with a tight draw will likely find this tank a bit much. Currently, there aren’t any coils available for mouth-to-lung vapers (more on that later).
Aesthetically, I absolutely love how the Ultimo looks. The design is blessedly simple, giving it an elegant style. The atomizer’s chimney has a clean logo, but aside from that the looks are understated. There are small notches on the airflow-control ring that make the tank more functional without compromising the simple design. The Ultimo will launch with black and stainless steel finishes.
MG Series Coils
The Joyetech Ultimo will launch with four coils, two of which will come with stadard kit. Let’s start with those first.
- MG Ceramic: This coil has a resistance of 0.5 ohms and a recommended wattage range of 40-80. It uses a combination of ceramic and 100-percent pure (whatever that means) cotton. Joyetech is positioning this as the most flavorful and longest-lasting coil in the lineup.
- MG Clapton: This coil has a resistance of 0.5 ohms and a recommended wattage range of 40-90. It’s being billed as providing both strong flavor and big vapor.
- MG QCS: One of Joyetech’s Quick Change System (QCS) coils, this one has a Notch Coil inside. Users can replace the cotton as needed. It has a resistance of 0.25 ohms and a recommended wattage range of 60-80. This MG Series coil does not come with the standard kit.
- MG RTA: This is the option for advanced vapers. It comes with a Notch Coil, but you can throw anything you want on its two-post deck. As with the above, this MG Series coil does not come with the standard kit.
As you can see, the MG Series will have a variety of coils that are suitable for a variety of vaping styles. Mouth-to-lung vapers will probably want to pass this tank over in favor of something like the Aspire Nautilus X or Joyetech Cubis.
Happy Happy, Joy Joy
The Joyetech Ultimo brings a lot to the table. It has a clean design. It’s easy to use and maintain. The MG Series coils that accompany its launch offer some nice versatility. At the very least, it’s worth a strong look if you’re in the market for a new sub-ohm tank. What do you think? Any interest in Joyetech’s latest? Leave a comment and let me know.
