The Swell is the latest product to come out of the long-standing collaboration between Vandy Vape and Tony B of the Vapor Trail Channel. It is a super-lightweight (106 grams) dual-18650 mod that is capable of 188 watts. But there’s more to it. The Swell is waterproof, which means that it will survive a fall inside the pool next to the cocktail bar. Or just a fall inside the sink. Or, heaven forbid, even the toilet bowl!
On top of that, the Swell kit features an innovative “find my device” functionality, which allows tracking it down using the Vandy Vape app in your phone. Coming from all of us who have misplaced or lost mods in the past: it’s about time! The app can also be used for firmware updates, UI theme settings and adjusting various other usage parameters.
Price: $90.99 (at MyVpro)
Colors: US flag, UK flag, obsidian black, red arowana, green anaconda, blue iguana, and more.
What makes the Swell different than the rest of the water-resistant mods is the fact that the PCBA board itself is waterproof. The chip is encased in a sealed chassis that prevents water from ever reaching its delicate circuits and connections. On top of that, the Swell is washable too. Just remove the batteries and the tank, and run the whole device under the sink!
The tank that comes in the kit is a thinner (24 mm) edition of the Trident tank—the sub ohm tank that came with the Trident and Jackaroo kits. The tank fits 3 to 4.5 mL of e-liquid and is compatible with two 0.15-ohm coils, one being a single and the other being a triple-mesh coil. The top cap is also redesigned to provide better grip when opening it up for refilling.
The mod will be available in 12 color options, with replaceable G10 and resin panels. For more details on the features and functions of the Vandy Vape Swell, check out Tony B’s presentation video below.
The Swell kit is on its way to Anthony, who will be giving it a detailed technical review soon. Keep checking this space for the in-depth look at what Vandy Vape’s latest kit has to offer.
