A mod by any other name…

Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about this mod, per se. The original Reuleaux was a hit for good reason. Granted, the design has improved a lot from one model to the next…

But even so, it feels like Wismec has turned into that annoying co-worker that won’t stop talking about their “perfect child”.

Which brings us to the discussion on hand – the RX2 20700. As you can tell from the name alone, Wismec has designed this box mod to be compatible with both 20700 and 18650 cells. This means that users can expect a max output power of 200-watts with a top output voltage of 9 V.

Fitted with a large 1.3-inch OLED screen, which users will recognize from the RX GEN3 – the mod’s outer appearance is relatively unchanged, with a larger firing button and single adjustment button being the main differences between them.

A compact and versatile addition to the Reuleaux series of mods.

When sold as a kit, the RX2 20700 box mod is paired with the GNOME Atomizer, which is now available in either a 2 mL or 4 mL capacity. And while it is a design we have seen before; the replaceable WM coil heads do provide excellent vapor and flavor at higher levels, so it’s hard to argue with this.

Right. So, let’s be totally frank. All things considered, there isn’t much new tech to be excited about and even the look and feel is almost identical. And while it is probably not worth trading in your “almost new” RX GEN3 or equivalent, if you happen to be due for an upgrade anyway, it is still a good bet! What has been your experience with the Wismec Reuleaux series so far? Is it worth upgrading to the RX2 20700? Leave a comment!

A marketing manager by day and an avid reader - and vaper - by night, I came into the vape scene almost by accident and have never looked back. You will find me in sunny South Africa where I am mostly always curled up on the couch with a good book and a fruity vape. At other times, I am known to indulge my unhealthy obsession with musical theatre and live comedy shows, in that order.

The Wismec Predator is their lemon. Built like the Smok Alien and just as bad. I own many wismec devices from the original RX 200, Dna 200, RX 200s, RX 2/3 and the newest RX gen3 but not the predator or this Rx2 . The 2/3 is the only one I had any issue with. I had to resolder the pos wire from the 510 back to the board. Once done, it’s not missed a beat to this day. I’m not one to simply buy one device from a manufacturer and throw the whole company under the bus, just because I had a device that had a fault. I bought 3 smok aliens as an example, and all three did the same thing after about 30 to 45 days. Which was: all three of them had the tops come off because of the bad designing. Simply put, you don’t screw a metal top into plastic, then have heat from a 65w + addy heat that plastic which causes it to fatigue and break to pieces in 30 days of use. The Predator is of this same smok design and thus MANY people had this happen on that mod to them too. But smok has many good devices that work well and so does Wismec. If I were to throw any company under a buss it would be hotcig. Not any devises I’ve purchased from them have worked well. I’ve bought 6 devises of theirs,
Hotcig DX200 (took out the dna board and build my own) R150 (returned 3 of them three times and none worked more than a couple of days. My first intro to hotcig was 3 hana mods. None worked right. I can go on and on but Hotcig is the company I personally will not buy another thing from.

had very similar problems with my RX2/3, that one tiny wire causing so many problems. Ordered a RX2 20700 today, just hope its built better and doesnt need maintenance every week!!!

RX 2/3 was my first mod from Wismec. I’d never buy any Wismec shit after it. The build quality remind me the Chinese tech from early 90’s.

Get a DNA mod .Chinese now , there best on the market today.
