The release of the now highly popularized SMOK Alien has sparked a battle royale among mod manufacturers. Next in the ring was the Predator 228, followed by the Revenger, both trying to gain the advantage. Aspire, one of the OG’s of this game, has come back to reclaim their title.
At first glance, the Aspire Speeder looks like it was designed with practicality and ergonomics in mind. The body has a rubberized finish, and a design almost reminiscent of the SX Mini G Class. It has a rounded symmetrical shape that looks like a two-way radio without the antenna. It doesn’t go up to 220 watts like its peers, but puts out more than enough power to chase clouds.

The Speeder 200W is packed with all of the standard features you would come to expect from a company like Aspire, plus a few extras. For example, it has a variety of modes including bypass, wattage, voltage, temp control, TCR functionality and customizable heating curves, similar to the Vaporesso OMNI 2.0 chipset. Aspire’s Speeder also boasts a 0.96″ auto-adjusting OLED screen which sets it apart from the Vaporesso Revenger, and a ton of other dual-battery mods. The Speeder is Aspire’s first mod to utilize a lateral fire key, instead of the standard firing button.
The Speeder kit comes with a brand new tank called the Athos, named after the Greek god said to have created the “holy mountain”. What does this have to do with vaping? I’m guessing that Aspire is implying how it can create mountains of vapor, mountains of flavor, or possibly both? The tank comes standard with 0.3 ohm triple coils, with a spare 0.16 ohm hexadecimal coils. The Athos looks like it will be directly competing with the ever-so-popular Cloud Beast series.
Other standout features of the mod include individual monitoring of each 18650 cell, and a solid, spring-loaded, gold-plated 510 connection. The Athos comes with two drip tip options; a wide bore for clouds and a smaller one for flavor. The tank is available in 4 mL and 2 mL capacities.
The Speeder 200W kit includes the mod and matching tank which is currently available in three colors: black, gold and silver. What has your experience been with Aspire products so far? Does the Aspire Speeder combo have the potential to knock its competitors out of the squared circle?
