Bridging the Gaps
Kimree’s Kimsun Vaportridge line of products is an attempt to offer the supreme convenience of cigalike products (V2, Blu, etc.) with the satisfying vape of enthusiast products. For those of you not familiar with Kimree, the company is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the cigalikes of many tobacco companies, most notably Altria. Given Kimree’s extensive experience in the cigalike space, I was curious to see how this line compares to enthusiast vaping products. Check out my interview with Kimree’s Victor Xiang above and read on for more details on Kimsun Vaportridge.
Kimsun Vaportridge Variety
Xiang explained that the Kimsun Vaportridge line was made with user-friendliness in mind. The cartridges for the products are meant to be disposable and easy to find. Kimree wants to get these products in convenience stores and gas stations, not just vape shops.
The first Kimsun Vaportridge product Xiang showed me was the JS328. The all-in-one form factor was somewhat reminiscent of a box mod, but smaller and with smoother edges. The Kimsun JS328’s cartridge holds a whopping 10 milliliters of e-liquid.
For vapers that already have a 510 device, there’s the Kimsun JS150, which is a disposable 10 milliliter tank. Lastly, there’s the pen-style there’s the Kimsun JS157, which holds two milliliters of e-liquid.
Kimree is in talks with several e-liquid manufacturers to get their flavors in Kimsun Vaportridge products. The ambitious goal is to get flavors that are popular with enthusiasts vapers and give them the broad distribution reach of convenience stores.
As for the performance of Kimsun Vaportridge products, the few drags I took off of a JS328 were satisfying. The vape is certainly much better than a typical cigalike, but I wouldn’t say it’s as good as what the best sub-ohm tanks offer. Having said that, I see where Kimree is going with this line; it wants to offer a solid vaping experience with simple plug-and-play convenience. For people that want to quit smoking, but don’t want to mess around with changing coils and refilling tanks, the Kimsun Vaportridge line could help them quit tobacco.
