VaporFi Platinum Pro Intro

In this article we take a look at the Vaporfi Platinum Pro – the slightly more advanced model of Vaporfi’s very popular Pro line.

The Vaporfi Platinum Pro costs around $10 dollars more than the Vaporfi Pro, but features a larger, sturdier and more impressive tank. The tank now stores 2.5ml of e-liquid compared to the 1.5ml capacity of the Vaporfi Pro. This means you will not have to fill the tank up as much and can vape longer with one tank full of e-liquid. One tank full should last most vapers the majority of a day.

Our thoughts on the Vaporfi Platinum Pro

Vaporfi Platinum Pro
Vaporfi Platinum Pro

As mentioned above the Platinum Pro is slightly different to the Vaporfi Pro in that it comes with an improved tank. The tank is the older Kanger Protank 3, which holds 2.5ml of e-liquid.This is more than the 1.5ml capacity of the Pro. This means longer vaping without having to refill the tank which is much less hassle! The flavor and vapor production is also better on this tank due to different coils and improved air flow.

The tank is very solid and sturdy and will last you a long time. It is slightly heavier than the tank on the Pro, but will therefore be more robust and have a longer life span. When you have it in your pocket, it doesn’t feel like it will break.

The 650mAh battery is the same as comes with the Pro kit, just in a stainless steel finish. I would have liked to have seen the Vaporfi Pro Variable 1000mAh battery come as standard in this kit. The pro variable battery has more power and gives users the opportunity to change their voltage to suit their needs. The more powerful battery also works very well with the Platinum Pro tank, giving you lots of vapor.

Vaporfi Platinum Pro vs. the Vaporfi Pro

So is it worth spending the extra $10 on the platinum pro? Well if you are after a more robust tank with more intense flavor and more e-liquid capacity, then yes you should. If you want something lightweight and sleek then you are probably better off with the Pro, as it is lighter and more balanced weight wise.

Top Tip!

Honestly if you are considering the Platinum Pro, I would go for the following set up with the variable pro battery (you can do so using Vaporfi Custom Vaporizer builder tool):

  • VaporFi Pro Variable Battery (1000 mAh)
  • Platinum Pro Tank
  • Either the 2.1ohm or 2.4 ohm spare coils, which will work well with the Platinum Pro tank
  • Wall adaptor for easier charging
  • Go and add some custom blend e-liquids to your basket as well!

With this set up you will have the choice of different voltage settings and a more powerful battery. This means you will be able to customize your vape to what suits you best. You can go for more vapor or lower the voltage slightly to bring out more flavor, it’s completely up to you!

The Vaporfi Platinum Pro offers a much improved tank that will give users more e-liquid capacity and more intense flavors. As mentioned above I would opt for a slightly stronger battery with the variable voltage function to bring out the best from this tank. The 650mAh battery that comes as standard with the Platinum Pro, is for my preferences not strong enough (it will probably be alright for some people). Hence I would go for the set up mentioned above. If you are concerned about the weight and size of this tank, then I would opt for the standard Pro kit. Check out the Pro review for more info.

Overall the Platinum Pro is a great kit with an impressive tank that is easy to use and clean. The vapor production is fantastic and the flavor is very rich. Beginners looking for a solid set up will no doubt enjoy the Vaporfi Platinum Pro.

My suggestion if you want something with more power, air flow control and variable voltage would be to go for the Vaporfi Rocket, which in my opinion is a more advanced set up than the Vaporfi Platinum Pro.

    Hi TBEC great site!

So.. ive just bought my Vaporfi Platinum Pro starter kit with 39.95 express trackable shipping and its been 11 days and no sign of my parcel yet, to Australia! Desperately waiting to puff away!!!

i really want to know if i made a good decision in purchasing this device. i dont want it to turn out to be a dud with a tank that leaks everywhere.. maybe im just being paranoid!

Anyway.. with this platinum pro starter kit are you sure its a protank 3, and not the protank 2?
i couldve sworn i compared the picture from Vaporfis Platinum pro starter kit site to a Kanger protank 2 and they looked exactly the same.. who know, i might be wrong

Also what about leaks. is the protank 3 prone to leakages or is this a myth and they have since fixed all the leak issues, ive read alot of threads on google but they were all from 1-4 years ago.
They might of fixed the leak issue by now.. just maybe

    • Hi MRCT. I would get in touch with Vaporfi asap if you haven’t got your package yet and ask what is going on. I know it is Oz, but express shipping should still be quicker than that, given you paid 39.95 for it!

With regards the Platinum Pro, we actually wrote that review last year, so it is slightly dated! It is still a solid tank for mouth to lung vaping with nice flavor, but not the newest on the market anymore. My personal preference would have been the Rocket, as you have an airflow control and variable voltage, but it is quite a bit more expensive.

So with regards to the Protank 2 vs Protank 3 confusion: The tank on the Platinum Pro is actually the Protank 3, but an older version of the Protank 3. The new Protank 3s come with slightly different coils. There isn’t much difference between them to be honest and we didn’t have any leaking issues with our Vaporfi tank. I apologize for the slight confusion and should have made this clear in the review, as I realize we link to the newer Protank 3 in the review with the newer coils. I will amend this asap and sorry for the confusion, but the Kanger tanks and different generations can be quite confusing!

Please let me know how you get on with your device and what happens with regards to postage etc.!

      Best regards
