cbdMD is one of the more well-established manufacturers of CBD products out there right now. They have been around for a few years and I was introduced to them through their CBD vape juice line called Mingo Rad. In this review, I will be testing some of the most popular cbdMD products including CBD oil, gummies, capsules and topicals.
All of their products are THC-free, so they will not get you high. I was just as impressed with most of their flavors as I was with their overall production quality and branding. I’m not expecting any less from the rest of their product selection in terms of quality. All of their products are lab-tested and the results are accessible through their official site.
The products were sent free of charge courtesy of cbdMD for the purpose of this review.
cbdMD offers four different flavors of CBD oil in six different strengths ranging from 300 to 7500 mg of CBD per 30 mL bottle. These are some of the more potent CBD oils I’ve seen out there. I also like how their branding is differentiated from their e-liquid line, aside from the fact that they come in the same style of dropper bottles.
cbdMD also offers a 500 mg CBD oil tincture for sleep that is formulated with melatonin, which I haven’t had the chance to try yet. While their e-liquid line has a more playful look, their other CBD products look pharmaceutical. With a name like cbdMD, it certainly fits the bill. The question is, does the quality match up with the presentation?
The CBD levels are clearly indicated by their respective colored label and the flavor is labeled on the bottom of the bottle. Their two strongest formulations are only available in berry and natural, but they offer their other strengths in mint and orange too.
The tinctures I received were in two different strengths and were both peppermint flavored. I also like how they put the strength in bold letters and display the amount of mg per mL on their website, which can save you a bit of time when comparing prices.
I noticed a slightly sweet taste to them. It might just be the type of MCT oil they used, but it has a smell that reminds me of shea butter for some reason. In any case, it tastes nice, the peppermint blends in with that sweet taste pretty well. There isn’t much of a cannabis taste, even with the stronger 1000 mg formula. This is evidence that they use CBD isolate, which is a highly concentrated form of CBD with virtually no smell or taste. Their CBD oils have a pleasant taste and come in a range of strengths, looks good to me!
cbdMD offers their broad spectrum CBD oil tinctures in four flavors. They are available in six different strengths ranging from 300 to 7500 mg of CBD per 30 mL bottle. These are some of the most potent CBD oils on the market right now. They are formulated with MCT, CBD isolate and are completely THC-free.
I received a bottle of their CBD gummies containing 750 mg—they are also available in 300 mg. I love the taste, especially the berry flavored ones. They are broad spectrum gummies and they are THC-free, like the rest of their products. Honestly, it just feels like you are eating regular gummy candy. There is none of the “hempy taste” that you get with some of the full spectrum CBD edibles. I had some issues obtaining the lab test results from their site, but it said that they were updating it. I’ve seen lab test results for their vape juice, so I am expecting that they have similar results for their gummies.
The ingredients include organic tapioca syrup, organic cane sugar, organic sunflower oil, natural flavors, organic fruit and vegetable juice (for color), just to name a few. It seems like they prefer using organic ingredients, which also happen to be vegan. I know some will appreciate that, but for me, as long as they taste good I don’t really care. I happen to really like the taste of them. I could recommend them to anyone looking for a natural and potent THC-free CBD gummy that doesn’t smell or taste like hemp. They are a good discreet supplement to their CBD oils.
cbdMD gummies contain 750 mg cannabidiol per bottle, and are also available in 300 mg. They are broad spectrum gummies that are THC-free, just like the rest of their line. Their gummies have a sweet mixed berry flavor and a soft chewy texture that gummy lovers will love. They are a delicious way to take CBD.
cbdMD offers their signature CBD and MCT oil blend in capsule form. They come in three strengths: 450, 1000 and 1500 mg. They are available in both 30 and 60 count bottles. I’m not into capsules, because sublingual delivery is way more effective due to its higher bioavailability. However, capsules are a very discreet way to take CBD if you don’t have access to tinctures—or if you just prefer not to drop it under your tongue.
I tested the capsules by cutting them open and putting the oil under my tongue. I also took a few the way it was intended. In both cases, they seem to work fine. Their CBD oil tinctures were more palatable, but I can’t really complain because these are meant to be taken as capsules anyway. Overall, there is not a whole lot to say about them. They are literally just their CBD oil in an easy-to-swallow gel capsule form. They also happen to be non-GMO, vegan, and gluten-free. If you’re going for maximum effectiveness, I would stick with their oil tincture and supplement them with capsules, edibles, creams etc.
Now you can enjoy cbdMD’s signature broad spectrum CBD and MCT oil blend in an easy-to-take capsule form. They come in three different CBD strengths: 450, 1000 and 1500 mg. They are available in both 30 and 60 count bottles. Capsules are a convenient way to take CBD when tinctures are not an option.
Mingo Rad CBD vape oils come in colorful and attractive packaging. The flavors come in cardboard boxes and each have their own color bottle with the Mingo Rad logo on them. I love the style they use, it has a vintage look to it. The flavors in their current lineup are Melon H20, Electric Razz, Coco Key, Sugar Cane, and Mocha AF. They span across the range of fruit, candy and beverages. The VG/PG ratio is not specified but it appears to be around a 60/40 blend. They are available in 300, 500 and 1500 mg strengths. They sent me a variety of strengths to test out and I’m already intrigued by their flavor profiles.
Melon H20: I always enjoy a well-crafted watermelon flavor, and this one smells on par right out the box. It reminds me of Watermelon Kush by Hemp Bombs, but it’s a bit less subtle. Melon H20 has a clean fruity taste, somewhere in between fresh watermelon and sour candy. I vaped it in the SMOK Trinity Alpha, and before I knew it, it was already time to refill my pod. I personally prefer Hemp Bombs Watermelon a bit more, but Melon H20 is a really good flavor.
Electric Razz: A blue razz flavor with a nice sour kick to it. It tastes like blue raspberry candy mixed with a touch of citrus–possibly lime? This would be a nice choice if you’re into tart candy flavors like blue razz. It has an authentic candy taste that really pops, and isn’t too sweet. I would put it right up there with the blue razz CBD e-liquids from top brands like Avida, Koi and Hemp Bombs. It’s the most sour blue razz CBD vape oil I’ve ever had. A solid choice for fans of tangy candy.
cbdMD offers five delicious CBD vape juice flavors. They come in 30 mL dropper bottles and are available in three strengths: 300, 750 and 1000 mg CBD. They range from fruity, candy to topical treats and beverages. Clean-tasting and well-crafted flavors made with their signature blend of broad spectrum CBD.
Coco Key: Coco Key is a smooth and tropical flavor. It’s supposed to be coconut with a touch of lime. Although it’s comprised of fruits, it has a very smooth mixed drink taste. The lime is very realistic and the coconut seals the deal which gives it that exotic piña colada flavor. If you’re into natural tropical flavors from the Naked 100 CBD line, you’re going to probably enjoy Coco Key. It isn’t too sour–the lime blends really well with the coconut to create that tropical flavor.
Sugar Cane: This e-liquid combines the taste of vanilla and brown sugar. It has just the right amount of sweetness and it is a delightful blend. I really enjoyed this one, it’s nice to have a vanilla e-liquid that isn’t a generic custard. The vanilla tastes very natural and light and the brown sugar adds some depth to it. This is a rather unique flavor that actually happens to be my second favorite out of the whole line, because it is subtle enough to vape throughout the day.
Mocha AF: I love a well-crafted coffee e-liquid. Mocha AF got me excited because I haven’t tried that many good coffee CBD e-liquids. I happened to have enjoyed this one the most out of the entire line. It stood out, and has that authentic coffee taste I love combined with cocoa. I’ve seen many companies fail at recreating those two flavors, but Mingo Rad pulled it off well. Compared to Hemp Bombs’ coffee flavor, it’s a little bit sweeter and has the additional bonus of chocolate. It isn’t too bitter, and the cocoa blends in nicely. It tastes just like a sweet mocha Frappuccino with chocolate syrup
cbdMD has a pretty well-rounded line of CBD products. They also offer various bundles of their most popular products and free shipping on all orders in the USA. I had the chance to try out a couple, but here is the entire range that cbdMD currently offers.
All of the products I’ve tested so far seem to be well-produced. Their vape juice and CBD oil tastes very clean, and their gummies are delicious. When you take into account their prices, free shipping (US only) and the fact that they offer discounts to military veterans and people with disabilities, they are a solid option for THC-free CBD oil. They also tend to use organic, vegan and non-GMO ingredients, which many people do appreciate.
Their lab test results are currently obtainable with a batch number, which means you have to buy the product first. I recently spoke to a representative of cbdMD and they told me that they are working on making their lab tests more easily accessible to the public. I think it would be a smart move, considering they are already publicly traded on the NYSE. I have seen lab test results for their e-liquids, so I have already verified that they have done lab testing on their products in the past.
Other than this minor technical issue, there is not much to critique. cbdMD seems to be doing a very good job at providing a well-rounded line up of premium CBD products. Have you tried cbdMD yet? Leave a comment and tell us what your experience was like.
