NEXA Ultra InvisaCloud Edition

Vaping360 placeholder image

The NEXA ULTRA InvisaCloud is a limited series of disposables that prioritizes discreetness. It produces minimal vapor and, under certain conditions, can be completely cloud-free. Other features include a new “dark mode” (no flashing lights), an upgraded bite-friendly mouthpiece, 20 mL e-liquid capacity, and two power modes.

Product intro and specs

There have been some wild innovations in the disposable scene over the past year, but nothing quite like this. The NEXA ULTRA InvisaCloud Edition may look exactly like the original, but it’s got a clever trick up its sleeve. When using the proper inhale technique, it produces little to no vapor. That’s right, cloud-free vaping. How does it accomplish this? Stick with me; we’ll get there.

Of course, there’s more to this device than vanishing vapor. It retains all the main design components of the ULTRA 50000, which I thought was one of the best disposable vapes of 2024. NEXA also implemented small but notable upgrades, such as a bite-friendly mouthpiece and a stealth option.

On the surface, the ULTRA InvisaCloud seems like a step forward; unfortunately, it also took a step backward. Keep reading to learn about my love-hate relationship with this device and why testing it wasn’t nearly as fun as I’d anticipated.

Price: $14.99 (at VapeSourcing)
Flavors: Berry siren, blue wizard, mint mancer, peach luna, watermelon phantom

Size, look, and feel

As previously mentioned, the ULTRA InvisaCloud is practically identical to the original, and that’s a good thing! The design is slick, stealthy, and ergonomic, resembling a gadget that Batman might retrieve from his belt. It has three distinct sections: a large glossy screen, a matte black chassis, and a crystal-clear tank. The only deviation from the original is the devices are solid black (aside from the printing) rather than two-toned. This, of course, aligns with the stealth theme that NEXA was striving for.

Another tiny change is the mouthpiece. The shape is the same, but it now features the rubbery, bite-friendly material that has become popular over the years. It may be a tiny improvement, but I love it!

The last design upgrade involves the functionality of the curved 3D screen. By default, it displays a light show whenever you take a puff, but you now have the option to deactivate it (“dark mode”). The battery percentage and power mode remain visible, but the device is much less distracting.

Although NEXA’s build quality seems to be a cut above most of the competition, I have one criticism. All five of my devices had several scuffs on the screen when I opened them. I get it—disposables often have tiny imperfections, and most users don’t seem to mind. Still, quality control should be a priority for any product, disposable or otherwise.

Getting started

Setting up the ULTRA InvisaCloud for the first time requires a bit of know-how, but it’s quick and easy after doing it once. Essentially, you just need to snap two pieces together, but I’ll explain in more detail (you could also watch the unboxing video above).

You’ll find the tank section and device individually sealed in the box. Remove both pieces from their packaging, and unplug the red rubber gasket in the device cavity. You may notice a foil seal on the tank section—do not remove it! Simply line up both pieces and squeeze them together. You’ll feel an initial snap when the foil section is punctured, but an extra squeeze is required to lock the tank into place.

After installing the tank, adjust the airflow as desired via the slider on the bottom, and then inhale to vape. You can also use the button to change modes:

  • One click to switch power modes (normal or turbo)
  • Long press to turn on/off dark mode

How does it hit?

This is where things get weird. Starting on a positive note, the ULTRA InvisaCloud functions beautifully. The auto-draw is snappy, the airflow is smooth in all orientations, and turbo mode works like a charm when you need an extra jolt of power. It’s a finely tuned device, as was the original.

So, does the InvisaCloud technology actually work? Surprisingly, yes. The technique is simple: take a deep inhale, hold for two to three seconds, and exhale. It may take some trial and error to get it right, but it’s kind of trippy when you do.

The more important question is: how does it work? Unfortunately, NEXA hasn’t been very transparent (no pun intended) about that. Based on the viscosity of the liquid, they’re undoubtedly using a very high-PG blend, which contributes to a lesser vapor output. However, I can’t be certain that some undisclosed ingredient isn’t also at play. Either way, people should know what they’re vaping, so I hope they clarify this soon.

To further complicate things, the vape experience was rough at first. Every inhale induced the feeling of a hairball in my throat, which is something I’ve never experienced. Of course, throat agitation is a known side effect of high-PG e-liquids, so maybe that’s all there is to it. I did get used to the sensation after a couple of days, but the hit still isn’t as satisfying as the original.

NEXA ULTRA InvisaCloud best flavors

Because the InvisaCloud is a limited series, the flavor variety is pretty slim. Only five options are available at the time of writing, and I’m uncertain if they plan on adding more. One might assume that with such a small lineup, these flavors must be the cream of the crop, but that wasn’t my experience. I only found two of them enjoyable:

Mint Mancer: My personal favorite. It’s a sweet, well-balanced mint blend with dominant notes of spearmint. A subtle fruit flavor may be lingering in the background, but I can’t quite pick it out. Regardless, I could easily vape this one all day.

Peach Luna: A refreshing and punchy peach and citrus flavor. It’s somewhat reminiscent of a fizzy fuzzy navel cocktail: peach schnapps, orange juice, and champagne.

Although personal tastes vary, I wasn’t impressed with the other three flavors. They all have an offputting artificial taste and aftertaste. However, I suspect fans of Fcuking FAB may enjoy Blue Wizard; it’s similar but with a generous dose of blueberry.

How long does it last?

Vaping360 placeholder image

An 800 mAh battery may not be worth getting excited about, but it’s pretty standard in the disposable scene. When paired with 50 mg nic salts, it should get most users through the day, even with exclusive use. I managed to go two days between charges but also had another device in the rotation. Regardless, a full charge takes about 64 minutes, so you’ll want to top it off every day just to be safe.

Although the e-liquid level is easy to monitor, knowing precisely how much is being used per charge is tricky. There are no labels on the tank’s graduation marks, but they seem to indicate 3 mL increments (the tank section holds 15 mL and has five segments). Assuming this is accurate, I’m going through roughly 4 mL per charge.

Does it last for 30-50K puffs? No. Granted, I haven’t been counting, but I can still confidently say that. Puff counts are wildly exaggerated and poorly indicate a device’s longevity. Estimating your daily consumption with a refillable pod vape is the only way to determine that. For example, if you vape 2 mL daily, the ULTRA InvisaCloud (20 mL total capacity) should last ten days.

Verdict

Most reviews are straightforward: determine if the product is good, mediocre, or bad. The NEXA ULTRA InvisaCloud, however, is more complicated, as it presents a hefty dose of all three. Let’s break it down.

There’s no denying that this is a fantastic device. The attachable tank system is innovative, the design aesthetics are slick, the upgrades add real value, and it performs flawlessly.

The flavors fall into the mediocre category. I only enjoyed two of them; the other three tasted unusually artificial.

The major problems arise with the InvisaCloud “technology.” It works, but it seems to come at a cost. The throat sensation is unlike any disposable I’ve ever used, and the agitation may ruin the experience for some. Also, if there is a mystery ingredient, I’d certainly like to know about it.

Ultimately, flavor and throat hit are highly subjective, so some users may have vastly different experiences from mine. The device is solid; I just don’t find it very enjoyable. If given the choice and discreetness was of no concern, I’d stick with the original.
