Introduction to Urban Tale x Lost Mary
In collaboration with popular disposable vape manufacturer Lost Mary, Urban Tale is offering vapers the same liquid used in Lost Mary vapes, but for refillable devices. This line of nicotine salt e-liquid is intended for vapers using pod vapes, or anything that caters to a mouth to lung vape. Formulated with a 50/50 PG/VG ratio, and coming in salt nicotine strengths of 35 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL, cloud chasers should look elsewhere.
There are 12 flavors on the Urban Tale menu, said to be in response to their research into the American vaper’s palate. Utilizing flavors like watermelon ice, blue razz ice, and strawberry mango, the typical bases are covered. What’s key here is that these are the liquids already filling Lost Mary vapes. Lost Mary is a widely known disposable vape brand, so if you’ve liked their devices, you’ll probably like these liquids. At least, that’s how it seems. Let’s see if that’s the case.
I was sent all 12 flavors for the purpose of this review, in both 35 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL.
Urban Tale x Lost Mary e-liquid review
I vaped the Urban Tale e-liquids out of a Suorin Fero using both the 0.6-ohm and 0.8-ohm pods. Without belaboring the point, I’ll just say that the 0.8-ohm pods work best with these liquids. They’re slightly too thin with their 50/50 PG/VG ratio for the 0.6-ohm pods, which created a little gurgle. However, it should be noted that the industry standard for nic salt e-liquid is 50/50 PG/VG. That means the Urban Tale liquid is right where it should be. The issue with my 0.6-ohm Fero pods is about that specific pod resistance. I feel it’s important to mention, though, since others have similar devices with pods that are designed to be used with a certain viscosity of liquid.
Most of these liquids are sweet, fruity blends, with all of them having varying levels of coolness. I was sent 35 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL. The 35 mg/mL worked great for a satisfying nic hit, but it was more subdued and chill. The 50 mg/mL has a strong throat hit and works great for quick hits to get you through. With so many liquids to try, I filled a pod about halfway full of each liquid, to sample the lot. I vaped them all at about 12 watts. Here’s my take:
Blueberry cloud: A sweet and rich blueberry flavor that’s both natural and candy tasting, which (IMO) makes the best blueberry flavor. This one has a strong aroma and a flavor impact that might just surprise you based on other blueberry e-liquids. Medium cooling.
Blue razz ice: The classic flavor blend of blue raspberry with a wallop of an icy finish. Unlike some blue razz flavors that are mostly tart, this one is balanced between sweet and tart. The cold blast ties it all together, making it a refreshing vape. High cooling.
California cherry: More tart than sweet, but with enough sweetness to satisfy. It’s a well-done cherry flavor that tastes natural and without any medicinal taste that used to be so common with cherry flavors. Minor cooling.
Gami: A gummi bear blend that is both fruity and slightly tangy, probably meant to capture the taste of clear gummi bears. It’s hard to nail down the exact flavors, but I like it. I should point out though that I like it more in the Lost Mary vapes. Medium cooling.
Grapple peach: An Urban Tale original of a motley crew of flavors. Grape and apple with a bit of peach. You can taste each flavor, which is a bit of a feat. It’s a sweet and bright flavor that takes normally unmixed flavors and makes it into an actual success. The flavors appear in order of the name: grape, apple, then peach. Medium cooling.
Lemon lime: A sharp and tart mix of lemon and lime flavors that taste like lemon drops, with a bit of lime zest. This liquid is a bit much for me in that it’s a bit aggressive in its flavoring. If you like strong and tart flavors, you might like this one. Minor cooling.
Miami mint: The young legend of Miami mint is on point here. That chewy taste of the big three mints, with the added sweetness is on full display. It should be noted that this Miami mint tastes just like every other Miami mint. Great, nut not a lot of originality. High cooling.
Strawberry ice: A sweet and icy strawberry flavor that is natural with authentic aromatics, utilizing only a slight hint of candy strawberry. The little candy strawberry flavor that you can taste helps to balance out some of the slightly dank notes of natural strawberry. Medium cooling.
Strawberry mango: An intoxicating blend of ripe strawberries and juicy mangoes. The flavors complement each other well, creating something sweet and almost sensual. Minor cooling.
Triple berry ice: A mix of (I think) strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry. Similar to blueberry cloud, this flavor trumps what normal berry mixes taste like. Frankly, I don’t remember it tasting this good in a Lost Mary vape. Out of my own device, it’s also part natural and part candy, which makes for a well-rounded taste. Minor cooling.
Tropic mango ice: An aromatic mango with a ripe but floral punch. I think it’s a good flavor, but I don’t love it as an all-day-vape—it’s a bit too floral for me. At least there isn’t any green flavor! High cooling.
Watermelon ice: A killer take on watermelon. I’ve tried many watermelon flavors, but this one is up there in terms of authenticity and flavor density. Somehow the flavor is concentrated, which amplifies the normally shy flavor of watermelon. One hit of this juice and I was having mental images of slices of watermelon. This could easily be an all-day-vape. Medium cooling.

Verdict
Judging the lot by itself, I’m ultimately impressed with these e-liquids. The strange thing is that although I’ve tried many Lost Mary vapes, in many instances within this testing, it felt like I was trying them for the first time. Particularly with watermelon ice, blueberry cloud, and triple berry ice. I find them much better as bottled e-liquids. In some instances, like with lemon lime, tropic mango, and Miami mint, I may like them less as liquids than prefilled in a Lost Mary disposable. Then again, it could be just what I vaped them out of.
See, although these are the same flavors in Lost Mary vapes, it’s not a 1:1 when you use your own device. It’s difficult to explain why, but my theory is that these liquids are highly flavored to compensate for the design of disposable vapes, but in regular refillable vapes, the flavor becomes sharper in some instances (and maybe just better or clearer in others). It’s almost like watching an old TV show on a new television and seeing the excessive make-up from a time when things were lo-fi. Don’t take that the wrong way, though. Remember, that watermelon ice is stellar!
Recommended as a line, but I’m not a big fan of the aggressive lemon lime and the strong floral presence of the tropic mango.
