Product intro and specs

The Vaportech Cube is a large disposable e-cigarette with adjustable airflow, fashioned in the form of an oblong cube.

Additionally, the Cube devices come in 5% nicotine salt and the rarer option of zero nicotine. I’m reviewing the zero-nicotine Cubes since that’s hard to come by in disposables—despite some vapers preferring to vape without nicotine. I'm doing this one for you all!

There’s 11 mL of ejuice on board and there’s an approximate puff rating of more than 3000. And if variety is your thing, there are 20 flavors to choose from.

Price: $19.99 (at Mi-pod)

Flavors: Tobacco, mango ice, strawberry banana, strawberry watermelon, peach ice, blueberry ice, menthol, grape ice, peach ice, banana ice.

Size, look, and feel

The Cube is a large disposable. It’s approximately 25 mm x 25 mm x 95 mm and they weigh about 72 grams. For disposables, they feel solid and sturdy—not like something to discard after a couple of days.

The squared body with rounded edges feels good in the hand. And the grey brushed aluminum adds a nice mature quality to the device.

Near the bottom on the front and back side of the Cube, there’s a logo and flavor name. It's a subtle thing, but the lettering has a glossy feel that contrasts against the matte finish. I find myself unconsciously rubbing on that area while it rests in my hand between vapes.

The mouthpiece is a short duck-bill tip type with a backstop. I really enjoy this mouthpiece because it doesn't extend that far. For me, it makes taking a draw easier over something like the mouthpiece on the Dragbar.

Getting started

As with any disposable without a button or recharge capabilities, getting started is just a matter of taking the device out of the packaging and vaping. However, since the Cube has adjustable airflow, you may have to adjust it where you want.

On the bottom of the Cube, there’s a little toggle switch. There are three settings: one for MTL, loose MTL, and one for a restricted lung hit. There are three tiny rectangular holes on the switch housing that correspond to the amount of airflow you can let in. I prefer the smallest hole opening which is a strict MTL.

How does it hit?

Smooth and warm. Even with the airflow opened all the way, you can still get a warm hit, just draw slowly. If you hit it fast with the open airflow, it'll produce too much air.

There is a little bit more noise to the draw than I’d like, but it’s not too bad. It’s mostly just the sound of air coming in, but the MTL setting can have a slight but high-pitched whistle—though, it doesn’t always make that noise.

As for the feeling of the hit, this is where I was most impressed. Although the Cubes I have are zero nicotine, they have a little throat hit. This may be from a tad bit of cooling on the inhale, but it seems to be more than that. Either way, I don’t think I’d be able to identify these as zero nicotine by the hit alone. That’s saying a lot. I’d think they were low nicotine before zero.

Are the flavors any good?

I was pleasantly surprised with how much l liked these! And consider, what I’m reviewing has zero nicotine. Mostly, low nicotine is considered best for flavors, but zero nicotine can have flavors tasting hollow. That’s why I was surprised to like these flavors at all, let alone finding something that I wanted to vape for my own pleasure.

Strawnana

One of my favorites. More banana than strawberry, but there’s enough of the berry taste to add a layer of dimension to the banana flavor. It’s subtly sweet and aromatic. No cooling.

Fresas Con Crema

This is my favorite of the bunch. It’s a strawberry cream flavor that has a silky cream taste with the faint flavor of strawberry. It’s really good. I didn’t know that “fresas” translated to strawberry, but when I first tried this, I swore it was strawberry cream. It is. Try this one. Only a faint hit of cooling.

Melonberry

Fruity sweetness and a moderate amount of cooling. The fruits are hard to distinguish from one another and don’t really resonate beyond fruity sweetness. There’s a moderate level of cooling on the inhale but it’s not ice-cold by any means. Melonberry is decent to me, but not my favorite.

Verdict

I’m impressed with the Cube in zero nic. I don’t have high expectations for disposables, especially in a non-nicotine combination, so it's nice to get satisfaction from using these.

There’s hardly anything negative I can say about the Cube besides the fact that not all the flavors are going to be for everyone, but I haven’t tried them in their nicotine versions.

Factoring in the flavor, adjustable airflow, and quality draw, I recommend the Cube in zero nicotine to anyone searching for a non-nicotine vape. As for flavors, I strongly recommend the Fresas Con Crema (strawberry cream).
