Product intro and specs

Zovoo DragBars are a line of high-performance disposables for MTL vapers. The brand is in association with Voopoo, hence the name “Drag” and “Zovoo”.

The Zovoo Dragbars come in a range of sizes and respective puff counts. From 5000 to 4000 and down to 600. The devices I was sent are the 4000 series that come with USB-C charging capabilities. There are ten flavors to choose from and the nicotine salt concentration is 5%. The 4000-puff count is made possible by a 630 mAh rechargeable battery and a hefty 11 mL ejuice capacity. The size of the device has more to do with the e-liquid capacity than battery size.

The coil is a mesh coil rated at 1.2 ohm. Based on the schematics, it seems as though the internals are a modernized cartomizer design with a polyfill soaked with juice. That said, nothing so far stands out as particularly unique. It’s the performance that will really wow you.

Although I’m getting ahead of myself, know that the first vape off one of these crushed every other disposable I’ve ever tried. If you get anything else out of this review, know that as far as vape satisfaction goes, the Zovoo DragBars are outstanding!

Price: TBA
Flavors: Tobacco, mango ice, strawberry ice, O.M.G, green apple ice, lush ice, menthol, grape ice, peach ice, banana ice.

Size, look, and feel

The DragBar is a big disposable. It’s about the size of a 60 mL e-liquid bottle. They’re made of a hard glossy plastic that feels good in the hand. But they’re a bit on the bright side as far as the colorways, which obviously correspond to the flavors (like green for apple and whatnot). They also look a bit too much like toys, maybe even adult toys if you catch my drift. But from a purely product-design perspective, I’m impressed and actually kind of like them as objects.

There’s a thin veneer of transparent plastic encasing these saturated colors that makes them look like you’re looking at fluid inside the device. Almost like those old wax candies with the liquid on the inside. But with the DragBar, that’s just the color of the devices...not of the liquid inside.

The dimensions of the DragBar 4000 are 26 mm x 116 mm. So it’s like carrying around something the size of a smaller mechanical mod. No matter how much you may like the flavors, you’re not going to carry too many with you.

The mouthpiece on them is a flat whistle tip that feels good when taking a drag on. But all in all, I’m a little torn with these. I’d prefer them to not be so damn loud looking, but I’d be lying if that stopped me from using them. They vape that well.

Getting started

Take the DragBar out of its packaging and vape. There’s nothing more to them than that. You don’t have to charge them or even press any buttons to turn them on. Also, there’s no airflow control like you have in some of the DragBar’s competition, so you won’t be tweaking anything. But know that if you don’t like an MTL draw, you might be disappointed. Well, I actually don’t know how you could be disappointed in the performance of these, but I have to put that out there.

Unfortunately, when it’s time to recharge, you’ll only know because the vape starts to hit weak. And when the juice is almost gone, you’ll only know by the flavor tapering off. That’s how most disposables are, but these vape so well that I’ve been taking them down to the last good hit I can get.

How does it hit?

The draw is a mid-level MTL that’s amazing to me. I’m used to receiving run-of-the-mill vapes and was frankly gobsmacked when I first hit a DragBar. The MTL has a smooth pull with very little effort. No whistling, popping, or airflow noise hardly at all. And there’s substantial throat hit, but not one that should be too aggressive for those accustomed to these types of vapes with 5% nic salt.

Are the flavors any good?

This is where the rubber meets the road. The flavors are absolutely great! I know, so much praise, it’s got to be hype, right? How about this: all the flavors I was sent have a mentholated/cooling effect. It’s in varying degrees, but I hate cooling and mentholated flavors normally. As it turns out, it may just be because I hadn’t had the right ones (after thousands of flavors tested over the years). Go figure.

The DragBars are lush flavors that taste like what they are supposed to taste like. There’s a richness and clarity to their taste that keeps me coming back for more. Even though the ones I tried have a coolness, almost without exception, they taste amazing. There’s one flavor that I didn’t like as much as the others, but even that one started to grow on me as it was my last one. Oh...I’ve vaped these things until they were done! That normally doesn’t happen with disposables I review. I move on. Not with these though.

Green Apple

Sweet and tart; candy and natural. A fair amount of cooling, but not too much. It is bright and dense with an easy-to-identify flavor. A common flavor but done much better than most.

Menthol

As stated, I don’t like menthol. So why did this one get depleted first? Ask the mixologists at DragBar! There’s something, like sweet eucalyptus with the menthol that gives it a smooth and sultry base flavor that makes the menthol into so much more. It’s really hard to describe, but it’s very good. It’s menthol for sure, but more than that.

Strawberry Ice

My favorite. A silky strawberry with a fair dose of cream and iciness. I’ve tried other strawberry ice cream flavors that rarely hit the spot. I’m not sure if that’s the intent here, but it’s a great rendition of a cold strawberry dessert.

Mango Ice

The mango has a slightly off-taste to me. I’ve gotten used to it to the point that I like the flavor enough to finish this bar—but I wouldn’t buy it. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor is saturated like the rest and the cooling is no more or less, but the specific mango flavor isn’t as accurate as some of the others.

Verdict

If it’s not obvious, I love the DragBars. Although I was sent these for the purposes of the review, I will go into my own pocket to buy replacements since all mine are now gone (a couple have a few more hits left, maybe!).

Also, to be fair to other devices I’ve picked on for their look, I don’t appreciate this style of device for vaping for a variety of reasons—just look at them! But I’m also more concerned with the vape quality than anything—and that’s where Zovoo nailed it! Since they vape so well, and the design is actually pleasing to the hand and eye (despite being too playful looking), I have no choice but to give these a strong recommendation. Zovoo got the important stuff right!

Strongly recommended.
