Evic-VTC Mini Intro

If you can’t decide between a Kanger Subox Kit or an eVic-VT then let me make things a little bit easier for you. Introducing the (somewhat) new eVic-VTC Mini by Joyetech! It is a temperature control device that resembles the Kbox Mini. It looks awesome but how well does it perform? Let’s take a look and see if it is worth the purchase.

Notable Remarks

Just like the white Kanger Subox kit, this badboy comes decked out like a freaking storm trooper! Also available in blue and black, there’s actually a specific term that vapers use to refer to this type of mod and that is “sick as tits!” Seriously, this thing looks good with it’s matching tank. It has a great size that feels solid in the hand hit kind of just disappears into your pocket. The black buttons provide a beautiful color contrast. Last but not least the screen is bright as all hell and is super easy to see much like Pegasus by Aspire and the new DNA 200 Mods. Joyetech obviously took a few design cues from it’s competitors.

Update: According to the pictures from their website, Joyetech is going to release this mod in a bunch of new colors such as Charcoal, Pewter? (Don’t ask, I’m not an expert at colors) and Red as pictured on the top of this page.

The eVic-VTC Mini actually performs really well. You can use it in wattage or bypass mode when not in temp mode. The battery life is pretty decent it provides a nice reliable and consistent vape. You can use this device with just about any atomizer and it will make a connection. I have used it with various attys, all of which worked out great. Bypass mode is nice when you just want to bypass the menu and just have a vape.

Temperature control

I will start by saying I am not a big fan of using Nickel or Titanium wire nor do I see the purpose of Temperature Control. However, I vaped both the Ni and Ti coils to test this thing out for you guys and I can assure you that they both work, if that is your thing. The Titanium coils just didn’t provide me with enough warmth but if you like a cool vape, you might want to check that out. It does not support Stainless steel, unfortunately. Update: There is now SS compatibility via a firmware upgrade.

Ease of use

It really doesn’t get much simpler than this. There are only three buttons, up, down and fire. The menu is easy to use once you get the hang of it. Overall they have made it very intuitive and convenient to use. The way the numbers speed up when adjusting the controls is perfect. Loading the battery is simple and the battery door feels secure once it snaps into place. The magnets are obviously very strong. The eVic-VTC Mini is super easy to travel with and maintains battery life fairly well (for a single 18650 mod). The super bright screen is easy to see wherever you may be.

  • Looks awesome
  • Small and portable
  • Bright screen
  • Comes with tank
  • Quality construction
  • Firmware upgradable

  • Doesn’t come with a rebuildable coil head
  • Can’t fully disassemble the tank
  • Looks strikingly similar to the Kbox Mini

This mod is for anyone who wants something ultra sleek and portable yet super powerful. It comes with everything you need, unfortunately no Kanthal coil head but this is a Temperature Control device, after all. That being said, you can still use it as a variable voltage (or mechanical) mod if you buy some Kanthal coil heads for it. The Ego One Mega tank is also not a bad addition! Basically if you already have a Kanger Subox Kit, there is no reason to go out and buy this thing, however, if you are looking for a nice mod that can do 60 watts (compared to 50 watts), bypass mode and temperature control, this is for you! For $60, you are getting everything you need to vape right out of the box, minus the battery! At the same price as the Subox Kit, you are getting a lot! However, if you want to build your own coils, you will need to buy the Ego One CLR heads. Overall, this is a great and versatile little piece.
