Can you hear me now?

Vaporcade may not be a well-known player in the vape game, yet, but they’re introducing a new product that might get a lot of vapers’ attention. The Jupiter IO4 is a cellphone with a built-in pod mod. I know, just what you always needed…. Apparently somebody out there needed it, right?

Vaporcade also sells regular e-cigarette devices, headphones and coffee. Interesting combo…

A vape phone?

I’m still not sure how I feel about the idea of a vape phone. Yes, we all use smartphones to stay connected, but many vapers take pride in acquiring the latest and greatest gear. First of all, the Jupiter IO4 better deliver a fantastic vape that is right on par with the current vapor technology.

Vaporcade claims that the Jupiter IO4 has the “safest, smoothest, advanced vaping technology”. Sure, that sounds great, but what does it all mean? There hasn’t been any other information regarding what type of coils it uses, wicking material. The flavor selection appears to be limited with coffee, peach, apple, raspberry and menthol.

The phone itself comes ready to vape, except that they don’t include a pod to get you started. Even though the pods are only $15 and good for about 800 puffs, I think for $400, Vaporcade could at least provide one flavor pod. The Jupiter IO4 actually costs $415, if you’d like to vape.

Running on empty

Assuming that it delivers a vape consistent with some of the better pod mod devices, do you really want to have your phone and vape running off the same battery? Fortunately pod mods don’t use that much voltage, but I’d never want to be caught on low power with nothing to vape.

Don’t worry, there is also a “breathing box” that provides portable charging capabilities, so you won’t ever have to go a full day without “breathing”, aka vaping. Unfortunately carrying this thing around kind of defeats the purpose of having a single device for your phone/vaping needs.

Tough crowd

At this point, there are so many other great pod mods to choose from, many of which have been reduced in size significantly over the past few years. For example, devices like the Mi-One, eGo AIO, iCare, JUUL etc. are going to make the Jupiter IO4 a bit of a tough sell these days.

And then there’s the price. $400 isn’t overpriced for an Android, especially with a built-in mod. But we still don’t know how good of a phone it is, or how well it vapes. In order for Vaporcade to really shake up the market, the phone not only has to be good, but provide an excellent vape.

What do you think about the Vaporcade Jupiter IO4? Do you think it’s a good idea or not? Why?

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dave has always had a passion for helping people quit smoking. As a former smoker himself, he knew how hard it could be. As soon as he learned about vaping, he instantly became obsessed with it and helped many people stop smoking. Vaping360 has given Dave a platform to do this on a much larger scale, by educating the public about the wonders of vaping. When Dave is not writing he is either listening to music, performing it, or cruising around on his Penny board.

I have a Juul ducked up to my Samsung J-7. Better specs, better vape, half the price. Go figure…
