It's What's Inside That Counts

The Vaporesso Tarot Pro Mod is an update to the original Tarot, which was released earlier in 2016. While many vapers were drawn to the box mod’s good looks, some were disappointed by its performance. The Tarot Pro Mod addresses the shortcomings of its forerunner with the brand new OMNI chip. In theory, it should deliver on the promise of the original model by offering great looks and great performance. Here’s a closer look.

The OMNI Chip and You

The Vaporesso Tarot Pro Mod is a 160-watt box-mod with all of the features you’d expect from a 2016 vaping device. It has variable wattage, temperature control, and bypass modes, as well as a few interesting customizable modes. The new additions are Customized Curvature of Temperature (CCT) and Customized Curvature of Wattage (CCW). These two modes allow vapers to program the ramp patterns of temperature and wattage, respectively. Rounding things out is a Smart VW mod, which suggests an ideal wattage based on the resistance of the atomizer. This is a particularly nice feature for vapers that are new to variable wattage or are unsure what wattage works best for a particular coil type/resistance.

At the heart of the Tarot Pro is the OMNI chipset. It’s responsible for all the new features mentioned above, as well as a whole new level of performance. As I mentioned earlier, some vapers were underwhelmed by the accuracy and performance of the original Tarot. The OMNI chip should address those problems, while introducing several interesting new features.

Vaporesso appears to have addressed the shortcomings of the original Tarot with the Tarot Pro Mod.

Aesthetically, the Tarot Pro uses similar design language as its predecessor. Some minor flourishes have been added, but it’s mostly the same bold and attractive design. A bunch of new finishes have been added and I really hope they make it to the final run. I’m a huge fan of the black model that features wood grain; it’s all about that ’70s station wagon look. The yellow model is the most interesting, with a yellow border and panels that look like an abstract triangle painting.

On paper, Vaporesso appears to have addressed the shortcomings of the original Tarot and introduce several new features with the Tarot Pro Mod. I’ve always been a fan of the design. Hopefully the new OMNI chip introduces performance that complements the sleek looks. What do you ladies and gentlemen think of the Tarot Pro Mod? Are you interested in any of the new modes? How about the new finishes? Please leave a comment below and let me know.

If, as it appears… looks to also now have USB charging/upgradability. If so= great! If not (for me anyway) =( More the USB charging aspect. In a pinch, at work, the car… for me it’s a “must”. Tho I’d have been even happier if it was sealed w/ internal power/battery but.. realize that’s just me. Even as a looong time vaper, just SO much easier overall imho. Esp since always close to USB/outlet & haven’t had anything die or stop charging yet.. not in 6 yrs anyway. That said, have always liked Vaporesso products… if screen is large/clear enough to read, quite sure this one will be a WIN for many (with or without USB charging/upgradability) I’ll have to wait & see ’bout that. =) Thanks for sharing Raymond… LIVE LONG(er) & VAPE ON! #ABillionLivesFilm

    • Thanks for the comment, Amanda! It’s great to hear that you prefer USB charging and built-in batteries. A lot of vape snobs dislike those features, but I think they’re convenient.

Overall while it does look nicer and seems to be improved, I find the .15 minimum limitation a little befuddling. Based on what I’ve seen in similar devices there’s no reason it shouldn’t be .10 or so. I tend to vape on .2 ni80 coils but still sometimes more complex coins get lower and to not be able to use them on that would be aggravating. We’ll have to see.

    • Love the Buddy Jesus icon!

nice looking Device unusual shapes makes a difference from the normal

    • Absolutely, Paul! I like things that are different. That said, my personal taste in mods is pretty conservative. I don’t like designs that are too outlandish. This mod is on the right side of the fence. 🙂

yer always good to be different and not follow the norm i do like it but my problem is cash flow lol im looking to upgrade from the coolfire iv and i must say i like to be different lol
are these available in the Uk

    • They will be available in the UK. I’m not certain of the ship date, but I’d expect it within a month.

I have the original and love it in power mode, temp mode is a disappointment as you cannot adjust the wattage and is lacking in power which makes its an unsatisfying vape. This is the aspect I hope they improve along with the ohm limit, it states 0.15 but in fact fires down to 0.13 so don’t understand why they market it as 0.15… 0.13 is still to high especially for tc mode as many mods offer as low as 0.05-0.08.

    • I think it’s a matter of the company erring on the conservative side for safety reasons.

My tarot pro had no issues with a .08 ohm build

I currently own the original Tarot in the blue finish. I did like it because it was my very first dual 18650 mod and it was just such a beautifully made mod. No loose parts or rattling. And the buttons were very responsive and clickey. However, I definitely would have liked to have seen a USB plug on it for charging or firmware upgrades. Also that blue finish started chipping off soon after I bought it. Should have bought a wrap I suppose. I’d like to see how well this device works. I’m currently using a Wismec 2/3 and a Sigelei 213. Love them both.

Very nice design, just got the yellow and black with triangular lines design this avo. Feels good in my hand, solid. I’ve also got the smoant battlestar, both are solid piece of works, but the tarot pro has the upgradeable firmware while the battlestar doesn’t. The Tarot pro does TC mode correctly (though since I only just got it, have only tried it with ss). Haven’t tried the cct or the ccw yet, still somewhat confused by them. But yeah all in all I would say it is a solid piece of mod and would recommend it.

Down side, can’t choose the wattage I want with TC mode as opposed to the battle star.
