FLONQ Ultra Disposable Review: Choose from 25 Flavors!

The FLONQ Ultra is a sleek disposable vape with a 20K puff rating and 25 flavors to choose from. It's the second FLONQ product I am reviewing after the Max Smart, which surprised me with one of the best flavors I've ever tried on a disposable (Milk Chocolate!).

The Ultra features a 650 mAh lithium-ion USB-C rechargeable battery, a dual mesh coil, 18 mL eliquid capacity, and 5% nicotine. It also has a smart screen for monitoring juice and battery levels, as well as a power boost mode for a denser, more intense flavor and vapor experience.

Like previous FLONQ devices, the FLONQ Ultra is designed with a modern, unique body style that feels both familiar and new. Let’s get into the review and see how it measures up.

Size, look, and feel

The FLONQ Ultra is both pocket- and palm-friendly. It has a flattened-oval form, with soft-touch materials, mimicking high-end automobile and boat aesthetics. It feels good in the hand and is unobtrusive in the pocket. It weighs only 65 grams and measures 25 mm x 51 mm x 100 mm. There are several colors available, and as with most disposables, the colors are indicative of the flavors.

What immediately sets the FLONQ Ultra apart from many other disposables on the market is its look. Where many disposables look immature and toy-like, the FLONQ Ultra has a distinctively mature vibe without any gratuitous blinking light shows. When you see these devices, it’s hard not to be interested in how they vape. They have a sophisticated look to them.

Lastly, the mouthpiece is really comfortable and a pleasure to use. It has a fairly wide bore (3.6 mm x 7.6 mm), which should help in delivering a better flavor experience. It’s a glossy black mouthpiece, sharing the exterior with the glossy front panel that hides the smart LED screen. I think this mouthpiece is more refined than the mouthpiece of the FLONQ Max.

Getting started

The FLONQ Ultra can be used as soon as you remove it from its packaging. Out of the package, the FLONQ Ultra is in regular mode. So, if you like a lighter and cooler vape (or if you’d just like to preserve your battery power), the regular mode is right for you. But if you’d like to experience a more intense vape, you’re going to want to try the boost.

The Ultra is an automatic-draw vape, and the button is only there to activate the boost power mode. To select the boost mode, simply press the button to activate the screen, then press it again to enter (or exit) boost mode. The icon and light display indicate which mode you’re in.

In boost mode, there is a red rocket with wings that illuminates on the screen, as well as a red-lit ring around the button. In regular mode, there’s a white-lit rocket on the screen (without wings), and the button light turns white.

The screen is easily readable without being flashy. The battery and eliquid capacity are identified by a small droplet and battery icon, with an S-shaped meter. Each meter is divided into six sections that disappear as battery and liquid capacity get used up.

How does it hit?

The FLONQ Ultra in both modes is fully mouth-to-lung, which means it has a tight draw that mimics the “pull” of a cigarette. That said, it’s an easy draw. You won’t have to collapse your cheeks or pull hard like drinking a milkshake through a straw. The dual mesh coil inside activates quickly, and the wide-bore mouthpiece makes vapor travel into your mouth almost without effort.

If you like a warmer hit and a more intense sensation on the throat, you should try boost mode. Although that’s what I normally like, I am actually plenty satisfied with it in regular mode. Although it’s cooler and potentially less flavorful than boost mode, it’s only once you compare them. By itself, I think regular mode is all the satisfaction I need.

I’d also like to point out that I haven’t had any issues with the hit, like spitting, popping, or gurgling. It’s smooth, without hiccups.

FLONQ Ultra best flavors

FLONQ makes flavors in almost every category, which is something I appreciate. There are flavors for candy, dessert, drinks, tobacco, and even an unflavored option. One of my favorite flavors in any disposable is milk chocolate, featured in the FLONQ Max. Unfortunately, it’s not in the FLONQ Ultra. Luckily, they do have a vanilla ice cream flavor, which I’d love to try!

Of the 25 flavors for the FLONQ Ultra, I’ve only tried six. I can’t speak much to the actual taste of the line, despite liking the menu. If devices like the Geek Bar turn you off for being overflavored, FLONQ flavors tend to be on the lighter side, which might suit you well. These are the six I tried:

Strawberry banana: Subtly sweet, with a baked banana aroma mixed with a brightly-tasting strawberry note. Light cooling.

Peach icy: Aromatic and flavorful with the sweet floral notes of peach. Medium cooling level.

Sour apple icy: The classic candy flavor with the essence of a granny smith apple mixed with a healthy dose of sour. Medium cooling.

Passion fruit icy: A sophisticated flavor with exotic fruit elements and the alluring aroma of passion fruit. Medium cooling.

White gummy: The mysterious tart and sweet gummy flavor that tastes a bit like a sour pineapple. Minor cooling.

Lemon mint: A strong flavor of lemon zest and spearmint. The lemon tastes a bit more like the rind than the pulp. Medium cooling.

How long does it last?

The FLONQ Ultra can last you about a day of moderate vaping. But note, that’s in regular mode. Once you’re in boost mode, the battery life is going to be diminished since it uses more power. Of course, this is all an approximation, but I’d say the battery life is cut in half by using the FLONQ Ultra in power mode. As for the liquid levels, I’ve only used these devices enough for each to be charged once, so I can’t estimate how much life you get out of the stated 18 mL. Let’s hope it’s legitimately 18 mL. What I can attest to is that after the first charge, there was one bar of the liquid meter that went away. Assuming it continues like that, it could mean that the device has enough liquid capacity to be charged six times.

The FLONQ Ultra is charged via a USB-C port located on the bottom of the device. I used a 2A charge block, and it took approximately 60 minutes to go from no charge to fully charged. While it’s charging, you’ll notice the meter readout filling up with bars.

Verdict

The FLONQ Ultra is an easy device to recommend. It offers plenty of flavor options, is easy to use, and has a design that’s easy on the eyes. I really enjoy the easy but strict MTL draw. There are only so many ways I can write about how much I enjoy the draw, so hopefully, what I’ve said will suffice.

The only thing that gives me pause is that I haven’t tried many of the 25 flavors. That said, I have tried more flavors from other FLONQ devices, and I’ve been fairly impressed with those—so it stands to reason that the other flavors in this device will be good too. I just can’t say for certain.
