Avida is relatively new to the CBD industry. They currently offer four flavors of CBD vape juice that are available in three different strengths. They also have two types of CBD oil tinctures and three CBD infused JUUL compatible pods. Avida seems to be doing things right so far. They make their third party lab tests available on their website.
They also claim to use the highest standards of production. They use CBD isolate made through CO2 extraction that does not contain any THC, except for their full spectrum tinctures. They have transparent business practices, priding themselves on strong customer service and fair prices. Avida also provides free shipping to orders over $75.
The products sent to me courtesy of Avida for the purpose of this review.
Strengths: 250, 500, 1000 mg CBD
The four flavors I received each come in classy black 30 mL dropper bottles. They all have a similar stylish design featuring their logo with colors that correspond to each one. The flavors were crafted by an expert mixologist who was awarded for his Fried Cream Cakes recipe. It’s time to crack open these bottles and find out what Avida CBD is all about. I will be testing these flavors orally and by using various CBD vape pens and pod vapes.
As soon as I opened the bottle, I caught a strong whiff. It smells just like real candy. Testing it under my tongue, I immediately notice the overwhelming sweetness. They have a pretty unique take on the classic blue raspberry candy flavor. It’s well balanced in terms of flavor, although it seems a bit sweet for oral use, but that becomes a lot more tolerable when you vape it. If you’re into blue razz flavored e-juice, and want something with an authentic candy taste, get Blue Razz.
This one reminds me of a very specific candy from my childhood, but I can’t pinpoint it. The best way I could describe it is like those purple pixy sticks. I’m starting to suspect that most of these flavors will cater to the sweet tooth vaper. This one is also very sweet and has a candy-inspired taste that is surprisingly spot on. I’m not tasting the berry as much as the grape, but it was probably added to give it a bit more character. If you’re into grape and berry candy flavors, you’ll enjoy their Berry Grape flavor.
This one seems to be the sweetest flavor out of the bunch so far. It’s a bit sweet for my taste, but it does have a nice mango taste. I’m not sure where they got the “manga” part from, I’m guessing it’s a reference to Japanese comics? Anyways, Manga Mango is another well-crafted flavor inspired by real candy. If you’re not looking for an extremely sweet CBD e-juice, then this one might not be for you. However, if you desire a super sweet mango candy flavor infused with CBD, then give Manga Mango a try.
All of the flavors from Avida that I’ve tried so far were very sweet. I was hoping to give my sweet tooth a break with this flavorless blend. Nope, that’s not gonna happen. As soon as I opened the bottle and gave it the smell test, it actually has a sweet aroma to it. I put some under my tongue and noticed right away that it must contain some degree of sweetener. When they say flavorless, they mean no flavor, but it does have a taste. I’m guessing they did this to balance out the slight bitterness of the cannabidiol content. If you’re looking for CBD vape juice minus the fancy flavors, Flavorless is the way to go.
Avida CBD offer CBD vape juice flavors that pop. If you enjoy well crafted e-juice that tastes like candy, you’re going to love their flavors. They also offer an unflavored additive to infuse your current favorites with CBD. Avida CBD is available in 250, 500 and 1000 mg CBD and is made using THC-free CBD isolate.
Avida now offers three of their flavors in JUUL-compatible CBD pods. They contain 0.7 mL of their 1000 mg formula, each pod contains 20 mg of pure CBD. Each pod and come in very attractive black packaging with the Avida logo and a depiction of the flavors. The pods look exactly like the original pods but they seem to fit very tightly in the device, especially when I used my older generation JUUL battery versus a newer one. It’s a minor con that could be easily corrected. If worse comes to worse, you can always just pry the pod out using tweezers when you’re done with it, which I ended up having to do.
The Avida CBD flavors tend to be very sweet and pronounced, so using them in a pod system actually makes a lot of sense. The taste isn’t going to be as prominent as it would be with a sub ohm tank or a dripper, but I actually prefer their flavors this way. My favorite is definitely Berry Grape, and I’m enjoying it in the JUUL more than ever. The other flavors like blue razz and mango are pretty intense, so they translate very well to the JUUL device. I think it’s a convenient solution for people who don’t want to buy their own refillable pod vape and fill it up for themselves. Now you have an easier option!
I think it might be a bit misleading to put a big 1000 mg label on the box, when it only actually contains 40 mg in total of CBD, but I get what they were going for. Avida uses the 1000 mg formula, which comes in a 30 mL bottle, containing 33.3 mg CBD per mL, which would be roughly 20 mg per 0.7 mL. So the math adds up, but it might be confusing for some people thinking each pod contains 500 mg CBD. That would actually be a lot more expensive, especially considering how much cannabidiol costs these days.
Avida offers their signature CBD blends in JUUL compatible pods! Each pod is bursting with flavor and contains 20 mg of maximum purity pharmaceutical-grade CBD isolate. They are thoroughly tested by a third party lab for quality and consistency. The flavors range from fruits to tangy candy like mango and blue razz.
Avida also offers two spearmint-flavored CBD oil tinctures. They are coconut oil based and meant specifically for oral use. (They are NOT suitable for inhalation.) One of them is a full spectrum tincture containing just under the legal limit of 0.3% THC. The other one is a broad spectrum CBD oil, which is THC-free. I think it is great that Avida makes a clear distinction between the two. The full spectrum tincture contains a range of seven phyto cannabinoids and nine terpenes. The broad spectrum one contains four phyto cannabinoids and six terpenes. They are also both pesticide free, which can be verified by looking at the independent lab test results on their site.
I have been taking about one dropper’s worth (1 mL) alternating between each tincture for the last few days. The flavor is rather neutral, with a pleasant minty aftertaste. It doesn’t taste like artificial flavoring, it’s very natural. According to Avida, they actually use fresh spearmint extract. They also utilize their own proprietary blend of CBD oil. They call it Core Spectrum Technology. Honestly, I don’t taste much of the terpenes, it doesn’t have that heavy weed taste like a few of the full spectrum tinctures I’ve tried.
There isn’t much of a difference between their broad and full spectrum tinctures in terms of flavor, but the full spectrum one has slightly more noticeable effects. It’s amazing how much of a difference that tiny amount of THC can have on the experience.
I think they should really have a label on the bottle saying “not suitable for vaping” since it looks almost identical to their CBD e-liquid bottles. If you’re looking for a clean tasting and effective tincture that doesn’t taste like cannabis, check out Avida’s CBD tinctures.
Avida currently offers two MCT-oil based tinctures. Their full spectrum oil contains less than 0.3% THC and their broad spectrum oil is THC free. Both feature CORE Spectrum technology, a proprietary blend of phyto cannabinoids, terpenes and spearmint extract. They are BPA free, gluten-free and third party lab tested.
Avida CBD vape juice seems to be high quality, which is also confirmed by their lab test reports. All of these flavors tend to be a bit sweeter than the other CBD brands I’ve been vaping recently. This is especially apparent when taking them orally. When vaped, it isn’t as noticeable. They also seem to stick with popular fruit and candy inspired themes.
I have found no issues with how this stuff is produced. The ingredients are top notch and the flavors are pretty well-crafted. Berry Grape happened to be my favorite of the line, with Blue Razz in a close second place. I wasn’t crazy about Manga Mango, but I could see why others would like it. The Flavorless blend was surprisingly sweeter than I had expected, but it mixes nicely when you combine it with a more neutral flavor.
Overall I would recommend Avida to anybody looking for CBD vape juice with flavors that really pop. If you’re into sweet candy and fruit flavors, then you’ll enjoy Avida CBD.
