Introduction
The Logic Compact is a beginner vape produced by Logic, a UK-based company and a subsidiary of JTI. The Compact, as well as the rest of Logic’s products are widely available in the EU and can be found online, as well as in convenience stores and various B&Ms.
The Compact is an auto-draw pod system without buttons and complicated settings. You just have to inhale on the mouthpiece. It takes prefilled 1.7 mL pods in five flavors and two nicotine concentrations, 12 mg and 18 mg – although only the Tobacco and Menthol flavors are available in the higher nicotine strength.
The device is available on its own, but Logic is also bundling it with two or six pods at a discounted price.

Size, weight, and feel
The Logic Compact is a super-lightweight and very pocketable device – it's not much bigger than two cigarettes put next to each other. You won’t have a problem throwing the Compact in the pocket of your jeans, and you’ll easily forget it is there. It weighs less than 30 grams with a full pod on!
Other than that, the Compact feels slick with its metal finish and the pods also have a premium feel to them. They are plastic, but they come in a nicely designed package with some rubber plugs to prevent leaking. Talking about the pod design, there’s no way to see how much e-liquid is left inside when the pod is on the battery. But that’s a minor inconvenience we can live with.
Our biggest gripe with the design of the device has to do with the magnets that secure the pods in place. Logic’s motto of the Compact is “when vaping just clicks”, which refers to the magnetic connections of the pods and the charger. The magnets of the charger are strong enough, but the some of the pods are certainly not. The pods won’t come out while you’re vaping, but one of them came out in the pocket of one our testers.
Getting started
The box of the Logic Compact includes the battery and the (proprietary) USB charger. Depending on the package you choose, you may get one or three boxes of pods, each containing two pods in the flavor of your choice.
Our device arrived charged so the only thing we had to do was take out a pod, remove the rubber plug, place it on the slot of the battery, and inhale.
Make sure you inspect the battery contacts when changing pods, as there may be some juice accumulating there — they should be dry. We’ve had this happen a couple of times and the device refused to fire. Note that the opening is rather deep, so you may need to use a cotton bud to get there.
How does it hit?
The Logic Compact has a very comfortable draw that is very similar to the draw of a cigarette. It has a very satisfying throat hit out of the 18 mg pods (Tobacco and Menthol). The 12 mg pods didn’t hit that hard, which makes us wonder why Logic didn’t make all the flavors available in 18 mg. Maybe they thought of the Tobacco and Menthol as transition options for smokers, who would then graduate into the lower nicotine fruity flavors. But honestly, it doesn’t make much sense.
One thing to note is that the pods need some puffs to get going. The vapor is rather cool at first but gets warmed up after 2-3 quick puffs. Even then it is a bit too cool for some of us, but it makes some nice vapor production. It’s also worth noting that the battery will provide consistent performance throughout the duration of the charge, i.e. it won’t drop even when the battery is low.
A couple of us did get a bit of liquid in our mouths, but this usually happened in the first puffs of the day. And no dry hits at all, even when we chain-vaped or took long puffs. Overall, the performance of the Logic Compact is a mixed bag. The 12 mg pods didn’t hit the spot, but vaping on the 18 mg pods was satisfying enough to give it a pass.
Are the flavors any good?
There are five flavors to choose from and as mentioned in the previous section, only two are available in the 18 mg strength. We’ve also seen them around in 6 mg strength but these don’t appear on Logic’s website.
Tobacco (available in 12 mg and 18 mg)
This is a smooth tobacco flavor that’s not overly sweet or nutty like most of the tobaccos that come in prefilled pods. This style of tobacco is good for a beginner vape, as we believe it works better as an introductory flavor to vaping. This one scored very high with all the members of the team — even the ones who don’t prefer tobacco flavors. We will be getting some more of those for sure.
Menthol (available in 12 mg and 18 mg)
A strong menthol flavor, with enough cooling effect to have menthol smokers feel at home. It has a pleasant herbal aftertaste and is also by far the hardest hitting one on the throat. Not much more to say here, if you like menthol make sure you order some of this.
Berry mint (available in 12 mg)
That’s an interesting flavor combination, but it didn’t hit the spot with most of us. The berry was too up front and too artificial. We felt it was very perfumey and we barely managed to vape one pod. Out of the five flavors, this one was no one’s favorite.
Cherry (available in 12 mg)
Cherries are notoriously hard to depict in e-liquid, but this one is excellent! It is more of a confectionery cherry than a natural one and a very familiar flavor due to that. Two pods of this flavor were finished one after the other and we’re getting more of these as well as the tobacco. Too bad it’s not available in 18 mg.
Strawberry (available in 12 mg)
That’s an artificial type of strawberry – more strawberry jam than fresh strawberry. Its sweetness is balanced, but it lacked a bit of depth. Overall it is a solid flavor, but it won’t blow your mind.
Battery life and charging
The 350 mAh battery of the Logic Compact doesn’t sound like much but it will allow you to go through around ¾ of a pod before needing to charge it. Depending on how often you hit it you may or may not make a full day out of it. For example, we went through the whole day when using the 18 mg pods, but we did have to charge it during the evening when vaping on the 12 mg pods. Less nicotine means you’re likely to use it more.
Logic claims that the device needs 74 minutes to charge but ours needed less than that. We timed it around 65 minutes from fully depleted to fully charged. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use it while it’s charging, which is a bummer if your device is out of battery in the middle of the day. Also, make sure you don’t lose the USB charger; it’s proprietary to the device and you’ll only be able to replace it through Logic.
One thing we all were a bit annoyed with was the lack of proper battery indication. The LED will pulse while you’re inhaling, until the battery is empty when it will flash ten times. It'd be nice if it had an extra color or two to indicate battery levels properly because as it is right now the only safe thing to do is proactively charge it whenever you have the chance.
Pros / Cons
Verdict
All things considered, the Logic Compact is a good beginner vape. It vapes well, looks classy, and feels premium with its metal finish. It also comes in an excellent form factor and Logic did a really good job with flavor selection.
Outside of some minor technical details, the only thing we didn’t like about the Logic Compact is the lack of an 18 mg option for the fruity flavors. Thankfully, the Tobacco and Menthol flavors are excellent for smokers who want to transition to vaping. The higher nicotine pods will do the trick.
