Product intro and specs
The iMate OS by VAPORESSO and DOJO is a refillable pod vape from the same ecosystem as the iMate X disposable. Both use cross-compatible, magnetized batteries with fast 2A charging. For pod vapes, a swappable battery is a small shift that makes a big difference in usage.
In the hand, most of the device is the 6 mL refillable pod, while the slim 1200 mAh battery resembles a detachable smartwatch screen. With more than one battery, you can swap quickly and keep vaping without interruption. You’ll find it much easier to carry these slender and small batteries over empty devices as backups.
The iMate OS utilizes 0.8-ohm and 0.6-ohm COREX mesh pods, both with a 6 mL capacity and a draw that falls between loose MTL and restricted DL. Other features include a puff counter, a 1.83-inch TFT display with 10 wallpapers, and a nicotine delivery that has blown my mind!
Let’s get to it and see what’s good and what’s not.

Build quality and design
The iMate OS has a mature yet captivating design. The battery/screen nests magnetically inside the pod, giving it a futuristic look. It reminds me of the shape of a disposable vape, but far more refined. The battery resembles an Apple Watch (let’s be honest), while the glossy pod adds presence in the hand—though it’s a serious fingerprint magnet.
The 1.83-inch TFT display is sharp and vivid, with a puff counter and battery indicator always visible. You can cycle through 10 themes with a single button. Outside of switching between Eco and Power modes, it’s mostly cosmetic, but it’s a slick-looking battery. The only drawback is the lack of a stealth mode.
The pod and battery feel comfortable together. Available in five colors (black, silver, pink, green, and blue), the design is understated but modern. The rounded back and flat front sit naturally in the hand, and the mouthpiece falls between a duckbill and a whistletip—like a slim travel bottle spout.
The magnets hold well in everyday use, though a hard drop can separate the parts. It’s annoying when it happens, but the flip side is how easy battery swaps are. Pop one off, snap in a fresh one, and you’re back to vaping in seconds.
Getting started
The iMate OS is simple to use, but there are a few things to know.
When attaching the battery, make sure the button is at the bottom. It snaps on either way, but won’t work unless it’s oriented correctly. The button cycles wallpapers, toggles Eco/Power mode, and resets the puff counter, but the device is draw-activated only.
Operations and features
On/off: five clicks
Switch Eco/Power modes: two clicks
Change wallpaper: press and hold
Reset puff counter: three clicks (auto resets at 999)
10 wallpapers with different indicator dials/visual styles
Filling the pod
Filling requires care. The fill port is under the left side of the rubber tab. Be careful. Do not fill all the way!
Best practice: Remove the battery before filling, lift the left side of the rubber plug, tilt the pod back so the port faces up, and stop filling around halfway up the mouthpiece. Overfilling can force liquid out of the rear airhole, and in my case, it leaked into the battery vent, causing shorts and auto-firing. Keeping ample space (a couple of mL worth) at the top prevents flooding and protects both the coils and battery life.
Performance
The iMate OS really surprised me. Both the 0.6-ohm and 0.8-ohm COREX mesh pods deliver vibrant, consistent flavor with a draw between loose MTL and restricted DL. There's almost no noticeable difference between the two pods. But if I were to choose, I think I prefer the 0.8-ohm.
There’s no airflow control, but the tuning feels spot on. You can even push it toward a stricter MTL if you want—though honestly, I’d recommend cutting your nicotine in half if you do that.
That’s the thing about the iMate OS: the nicotine delivery is off the charts. In most refillable pods with a loose MTL, I need 24 mg freebase to feel satisfied. Here, 3-6 mg juices hit like 20–30 mg salts. It might sound cliché, but it’s changed the game for me. I (inadvertently) dropped my nicotine intake by 94% by using the iMate OS exclusively for the past couple of weeks. If I were to switch back to 5% (50 mg/mL), I’d increase my nicotine intake 15x. Shocking, I know. Damn salts.
Luckily, the iMate OS works best with thicker liquids, and I have a stockpile of those! I’ve been using 70VG freebase juices with zero wicking issues or dry hits. And while I don’t recommend filling the pods completely (due to issues with gurgling and leaking), the 6 mL capacity means you get plenty of runtime between refills. Speaking of runtime…
Battery life and charging
Unlike the DOJO iMate X disposables, the pod of the iMate OS doesn't house a battery. You can only use it with the battery attached. The 1200 mAh battery lasts at least a day and a half of heavy vaping. I averaged around 220 (long) puffs per charge in either Eco or Power mode. Your results may vary, but the consistency stood out and was a little weird. I mean, I would think Eco would give me more puffs.
The iMate OS has fast charging, but only a partial charge is fast. Put another way, you can charge up to about 80% in just 30 minutes. A full charge takes a bit longer (over an hour). Regardless, with two batteries in rotation, I never miss a beat. Plus, the device supports pass-thru charging, so even if I were caught with a dead battery, I’d still be back to vaping quickly, just having to be attached to a power supply.
When charging, the screen shows the percentage briefly, then goes dark. To check progress, you have to press the button. I’d prefer a small indicator that stays on until charging is complete.

Verdict
The iMate OS takes low-nic liquids and makes them perform like medium-strength salts. If I were shopping for a new refillable pod vape, that’s all I’d need to hear. I mean, what else is there to say? A lot, actually.
The swappable battery system is super practical, and it makes for a seamless experience (when you have more than one battery). Of course, VAPORESSO x DOJO isn’t the first to do something like this (think Off-Stamp), but no one has done it like this! The 1.83-inch screen with its selectable themes adds personality and elegance, while keeping useful info like battery life and puff count always visible when the screen is on.
Besides the amazing nicotine delivery, the COREX mesh pods are seriously flavorful and long-lasting. I lost count of the refills, but I’ve finished a 60 mL bottle between two pods, and neither shows signs of decreased performance yet. Add in its ability to handle thicker juices, its generous 6 mL capacity, and fast-charging 1200 mAh batteries, and you’ve got one helluva refillable pod vape.
The one issue is that everything can go awry if you’re not careful with the refill. Just remember to leave a couple of mL worth of an air pocket. Because overfilling it can ruin the device, the iMate OS has a blemish, despite being my new favorite refillable pod vape.
I do highly recommend the VAPORESSO x DOJO iMate OS, as long as you know not to fill it completely.
