V2: A Resilient UK-Revived ECigarette Brand with Deep Industry Roots

V2 began in 2010 as a U.S.-based e-cigarette pioneer under VMR Products LLC, founded in Miami by Jan Andries Verleur and Dan Recio. It quickly grew into one of the world’s largest online vape retailers, with operations across Miami, Shenzhen, and Prague, and revenue soaring to approximately $80 million annually by 2013 pure-eliquids.com. However, regulatory pressures and rising costs led to its closure in the U.S. in November 2018 after being acquired by Juul Labs. That same year, V2 Cigs UK—initially the authorized British distributor established in 2012—assumed ownership of the brand name and supply chain, evolving into V2 Cigs UK, a privately held company registered as 1111 EC Services Ltd in Peterborough. 

Today, V2 Cigs UK operates as a vertically integrated vape business, managing in-house manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory compliance under UK’s TPD framework. It offers a full lineup—e-cig pens, cartridges, versatile device kits, and its own Vsavi brand e-liquids—through its online storefront and distribution in over 40,000 UK and European physical outlets. Renowned for simplicity, customer support, and cessation-focused messaging (“helping smokers quit”), the company maintains a robust digital presence, including a Trustpilot-backed 5-star reputation and active engagement across social platforms.
