Product intro and specs
The sequel to one of my favorite high-powered pod vapes has finally arrived! Of all the highly anticipated releases of 2026, the OXVA VPRIME 2 tops my list. I was a massive fan of the original; the performance, design, and build quality were incredible. But almost two years have passed, so my hopes for a follow-up had begun to fade. Thankfully, OXVA delivered! But they also went in an unexpected direction.
Unlike the recent NeXLIM 2, the VPRIME 2 is more than a practical refresh of a popular device. OXVA went big with this one, blurring the line between pods and mods. Overall volume increased by 38%; it’s 34 grams heavier, and the battery is much larger. It also introduces new 6 mL UNITECH 3.0 pods while remaining compatible with previous VPRIME pods.
While the size and weight won’t appeal to everyone, a market clearly exists for high-powered pod systems like this. The popularity of the VAPORESSO LUXE XR MAX 2 and VOOPOO VINCI E120 have already demonstrated that. Can the VPRIME 2 compete? Keep reading to find out.

Build quality and design
Let’s start by addressing the elephant in the room. I don’t just mean that figuratively either; the OXVA VPRIME 2 is the size of an elephant in the world of pod vapes! For reference, it’s taller and wider than the Vaperz Cloud Ascent box mod (dual-18650) with a small RDA on top. The Ascent is thicker, but only by 3.3 mm. Regardless, it’s remarkably comfortable in the hand. The dramatic curves and smooth edges make it feel like a highly polished stone. If OXVA made a box mod version of this, I’d order one in a heartbeat.
The build quality is excellent. It’s right on par with the original VPRIME, but with a few design changes. Most notably, only hard plastic panels are currently available; there are no leather versions yet. They feel durable, and the finish is outstanding, but they’re also slick, and some colors smudge easily. More often than not, the device feels a bit greasy.
Another major change is that OXVA replaced the up-and-down buttons with a physical locking switch. We’ll discuss that more in the next section. Also, there is no longer a slim LED panel under the screen.
Other than that, it looks and feels very much like a VPRIME. The adjustable airflow is equally plentiful, the pods are similar, and the screen is only 0.02 inches larger. The display itself is as informative and attractive as the original.
Getting started
Here’s where things slightly deviate from the norm. OXVA removed the adjustment buttons and revamped the user interface. The VPRIME 2 functions much like their other single-button devices, such as the XLIM and NeXLIM series. This streamlined approach makes a click guide helpful for getting started. Here are the basics:
- One click to wake the screen; long-press to fire
- Two clicks to change the theme
- Three clicks to adjust the power
- Four clicks to switch power modes (eco or boost)
- Five clicks to power on or off
- Flip the side switch to lock or unlock the firing button
The new pods hold an extra milliliter of e-liquid, but they function exactly like the previous ones. Simply lift the rubber tab on the side and fill. If it’s a new pod, let it saturate for at least five minutes before vaping.
The device offers two power modes: eco and boost. Eco fires a single mesh coil, while boost activates two coils and halves the resistance. However, the resistance reading on the display does not change when boost is selected.
0.4-ohm pod: OXVA recommends 28-60 watts
- ECO range (0.4 ohms): 10-40 watts
- BOOST range (0.2 ohms): 40-60 watts
0.6-ohm pod: OXVA recommends 20-50 watts
- ECO range (0.6 ohms): 10-35 watts
- BOOST range (0.3 ohms): 35-50 watts
The VPRIME 2 features both button and draw activation. Flip the switch on the side of the device to turn button-firing on or off. Even when locked, the button still works for other functions, such as wattage adjustments. To adjust the airflow setting, use the slider on the opposite side.
Performance
The biggest performance upgrade comes from the new 6 mL UNITECH 3.0 pods. This technology seriously impressed me with the recent NeXLIM 2 and XLIM 4. Let’s see how it fares when scaled up to the larger, cloudier VPRIME pods. Note that I used a 3 mg, 70VG e-liquid for testing.
0.4-ohm pod: This one started a bit rough. After one fill, the flavor took a nosedive. It wasn’t burnt or dry; it just became noticeably bland. So I cracked open a new pod, and it lasted for an impressive 40 mL before the performance started to drop. The flavor may not surpass my favorite sub ohm coil heads, but it gets very close. When you run it wide open, you get a direct lung draw with a pleasant amount of restriction. Overall, it’s a proper sub ohm tank experience in a pod vape, which is exactly what OXVA was shooting for.
0.6-ohm pod: As expected, the airflow is tighter on this pod and leans more into RDL territory. However, with the slider wide open, it’s much airier than smaller 0.6-ohm pods, such as the XLIM variations. Compared to the 0.4-ohm option, the flavor feels denser and richer, and the open airflow setting suits my taste perfectly. It’s an outstanding pod; my favorite of the two. I’ve now put 30 mL through it, and performance has been consistent.
Airflow performance: At maximum airflow, it’s an absolute dream; incredibly smooth! However, when the slider is roughly 40-60% open, I experience some turbulence and wispiness. I prefer running the VPRIME 2 wide open, so this doesn’t affect me, but others may notice.
One thing to keep in mind: when using auto-draw with max airflow, you must maintain a steady, assertive inhale. If you don’t, the device may sputter (stop and start repeatedly) at the tail end of your puff. This can happen with auto-draw on practically any airy direct-lung device; depending on your inhale style, the airflow may not consistently trigger the sensor.
Battery life and charging
The OXVA VPRIME 2 is an absolute beast in the battery department. Its 3400 mAh battery is roughly 31% larger than the original (2600 mAh). The average recharge capacity was about 3100 mAh, which is fantastic. Even if you’re a serious sub-ohm vaper, this device will likely last the entire day. I’ve been getting around 13.5 to 14.5 mL per charge! While others may feel differently, the extended runtime alone justifies the size and weight for me.
Obviously, a 3400 mAh battery won’t charge in under an hour, but the VPRIME 2 gets surprisingly close. My average charge time was 73 minutes at 2.6 amps. For perspective, many 800 mAh disposables take longer than that. Interestingly, an extra 400+ mAh trickles into the battery after the display says 100%. For maximum runtime, leave the device plugged in for an extra 20 minutes.

Verdict
The OXVA VPRIME 2 is a bold and potentially divisive step forward for the series. The device’s heft will likely put off those accustomed to traditional pod vapes like the XLIM PRO 3. It’s large and heavy; there’s no getting around that. But realistically, that’s not who it was designed for. Instead, OXVA took a “go big or go home” approach, aimed at users who want sub ohm performance in a pod-style device.
Size is relative, though: the VPRIME 2 is tiny compared to most mod kits! Sub ohm tank users should feel right at home. It delivers a similar experience, just packed into a more convenient, all-in-one setup. It also has strong appeal for RDL pod fans. At roughly 14 mL per charge, the runtime is about double what I typically get from an average pod vape, and it offers more airflow and power.
There are only a few potential downsides. Airflow turbulence at certain settings and auto-draw sputtering could affect some users. And, naturally, there’s a trade-off for all that power, capacity, and battery life: portability.
Overall, it’s clear what OXVA was trying to accomplish here, and they succeeded. The VPRIME 2 isn’t for everyone, but it delivers exactly the kind of performance its target audience is looking for.
