Product intro and specs
The ELFBAR ELFX MEGA is a refillable pod vape designed for people tired of charging and refilling all the time. The big number here is the 2800 mAh internal battery, which is enormous by pod-system standards. And the version I tested came with an equally oversized 10 mL refillable pod. 2 mL and 5 mL versions are also available, depending on the market.
The pods use ELFBAR’s QUAQ Dual Mesh technology and offer two operating modes: Eco and Turbo (max output: 32 watts). Eco uses the two mesh elements alternately to reduce power consumption and extend pod life, while Turbo activates them simultaneously for a stronger hit and more vapor.
There’s no manual wattage adjustment, which says a lot about who the ELFX MEGA is made for. It isn’t trying to be a tiny box mod. You fill it, choose the power mode, set the airflow, and vape. That simplicity makes it an ideal step up for someone coming from disposables or prefilled pods. You can start using your own e-liquid without dealing with advanced features like menus and wattage adjustments.

Build quality and design
The ELFX MEGA is chunky; there’s really no getting around that. But with “MEGA” in the name, I suppose you can’t complain too much. With the 10 mL pod attached, it stands roughly 120 mm tall and is about 35 mm wide and 26 mm thick. The body alone weighed just under 75 grams on my scale, which surprised me because it looks like it should be considerably heavier. It’s certainly not what I’d call a discreet little pod vape, but the aluminum construction keeps the weight down and gives it a solid, premium feel in the hand.
The shape is very boxy, almost like someone took a normal pod system and stretched it sideways. Still, it’s comfortable enough once you get used to it. The color display shows only crucial information, including battery level and the current operating mode, without drowning you in unnecessary data. The build quality is excellent, and everything feels properly put together.
Portability is where you pay for that battery and liquid capacity. It will fit in a pocket, but you’ll definitely know it’s there. I’d consider this more of a jacket-pocket or bag device than something I’d want bouncing around in my jeans all day.
Getting started
Using the ELFX MEGA is about as simple as a refillable pod vape gets. Pull open the side-mounted silicone plug, fill it with e-liquid, and close it properly. If it’s a fresh pod, wait at least five minutes before vaping. Thankfully, if you have the 10 mL version, you won’t need to refill very often. One slight disappointment is that the kit includes only one pod, so I recommend picking up a spare when you buy the device. That way, you’ll be prepared when the included one finally gives up.
Five clicks unlock the device, while a single press switches between Eco and Turbo mode. Aside from that, you don’t actually need the button because the vape itself is draw-activated. The airflow control is similarly simple, although arguably too limited. You essentially have MIN and MAX rather than a useful range of positions between them. MIN produces a tight MTL draw, while MAX opens things up into restricted-direct-lung territory. I would prefer a setting in between as well.
Performance
Flavor is one of the ELFX MEGA’s strongest points. With ELFLIQ nic salts (20 mg), I got very good flavor saturation, a satisfying throat hit, and consistent vapor throughout testing. The auto-draw response is also quick and reliable. There is a faint buzzing or humming noise when you take a puff, presumably from the dual-mesh setup, but it isn’t loud enough to bother me.
The difference between Eco and Turbo mode is immediately obvious. This isn’t one of those devices where you press the button and wonder if anything happened. I’d use Eco for normal MTL vaping. It’s calmer, more efficient, and works particularly well with higher-strength nic salts. Turbo brings noticeably more vapor and a stronger, fuller hit, making it ideal for the RDL airflow setting. Even at MAX, though, the draw remains fairly restricted. If you like a genuinely airy RDL vape, this probably isn’t going to give it to you.
I found the airflow control's placement slightly annoying. It’s on the front of the device and can be partially covered depending on how you naturally hold it. It’s not a deal-breaker, but after a few uses, you start wondering why it wasn’t positioned elsewhere.
ELFX MEGA pods and dual-mesh system
The ELFX MEGA uses its own dedicated pods rather than the standard ELFX cartridges; 0.6-ohm and 0.8-ohm dual-mesh versions are available. The 0.6-ohm pod makes more sense if you lean toward RDL and Turbo mode, while the 0.8-ohm option is the more obvious choice for tighter MTL vaping.
Both pods use QUAQ Dual Mesh with ELFBAR’s DURA technology. The interesting part is how the device uses those two mesh elements differently by mode. Eco alternates between them, while Turbo operates both together. That gives the two modes a genuine mechanical difference rather than simply changing a number on the screen.
ELFBAR claims the design can extend pod lifespan to around three times that of a traditional single-mesh cartridge. Some of its material even rates a pod for up to 100 mL of e-liquid. Regardless, I’d take lifespan figures with a grain of salt. Sweeteners, flavorings, vaping frequency, and power modes can all greatly impact coil life. What matters more to me is that the pod performed consistently during testing, with good saturation and no obvious drop in flavor.
Battery life and charging
The battery is probably the main reason to buy the ELFX MEGA. At 2800 mAh, it has comparable capacity to many small mods rather than a typical pod vape. In Eco mode, I comfortably got around three to four days of battery life. I suspect lighter users could stretch that even further. Turbo obviously eats into that advantage, but it still delivered roughly two and a half days of vaping for me, which is impressive.
Charging is handled through USB-C at up to 5V/2A. Mine took around two hours to fully charge. That may not be particularly fast, but it’s not bad for a 2800 mAh battery. More importantly, you aren’t charging it every evening. I’d rather wait two hours every few days than constantly charge a smaller pod. Also, the display shows the precise battery percentage, so you know exactly how much vaping time you have left. It’s a big upgrade over blinking LEDs.

Verdict
The ELFBAR ELFX MEGA is a very easy device to understand. The battery is huge, the pod is huge, and almost everything else is deliberately simple. That works. Battery life was excellent during my testing, flavor with ELFLIQ nic salts was very good, and Eco and Turbo feel distinctly different. I also like the dual-mesh concept because Eco isn’t simply a weaker Turbo mode; it changes how the two mesh elements are being used, which should help with efficiency and coil longevity.
The drawbacks mostly come from that same simplicity. I’d prefer more versatile airflow adjustment; the MAX setting could be more open, and anyone who enjoys dialing in wattage will feel limited. It’s also undeniably big for a pod vape. But I don’t think those design choices are accidents. This feels intended primarily for people moving from disposables or prefilled systems who want a refillable vape without a learning curve. For that user, the enormous battery, 10 mL capacity, simple controls, and strong flavor make a lot of sense. Experienced users may want more control, but as an easy, long-lasting pod system, the ELFX MEGA does its job very well.
