The multi-ohm cartridges introduced with the ARGUS G4 series were an unexpected innovation. Flip the pod, change the resistance! It’s a clever concept that works surprisingly well. The new VOOPOO ARGUS Z3 is the third device in the multi-ohm family and a step in a new direction. It’s a lightweight, affordable pod vape aimed at beginners and disposable users. Think of it as a “Lite” version of the G4 Mini: same functionality with a less premium build.
With a jaw-dropping $9.99 MSRP, it’s important to temper expectations. The Z3 isn’t an advanced device loaded with bells and whistles, but its specs are respectable for the price. It features a 1100 mAh battery, fully adjustable airflow, an LED indicator, and 3.5 mL capacity. The included pod switches between 0.7 and 1.0 ohms, so it offers some power adjustability, too.
Backed by a fantastic pod platform, the ARGUS Z3 seems like a surefire winner, especially for budget-conscious vapers. The real question is: is it the best pod vape in its price range? Possibly, but value isn’t always as simple as finding the lowest price. Keep reading to learn more.

Build quality and design
The ARGUS Z3’s build quality matches its price tag. It definitely feels like a $10 device: very plasticky and toy-like, reminiscent of a mid-range carnival prize. That doesn’t mean it lacks style, though. The semi-glossy PCTG body features a classy diamond pattern along the sides, much like the ARGUS G3 Mini. Textured leatherette panels (stickers) accent both sides with a splash of color and a unique design. Together, the different textures provide a satisfying hand feel and excellent grip.
The plastic construction also contributes to portability. With a pod installed, the Z3 weighs a mere 41.6 grams! That’s exceptionally light for a modern pod vape and a huge advantage for portability. You could put this device in a T-shirt pocket and forget it’s there.
All other design components mirror the G4 Mini. It features a 4-stage indicator on the front, an airflow slider on the back, and a USB-C port on the side.
Getting started
VOOPOO designed the ARGUS Z3 with beginners in mind, and that shows in its usability. Getting up and running is easy. Lift the rubber tab on the side of the pod and fill. As mentioned in previous ARGUS reviews, filling these pods can be tedious. Air pockets are common, so fill slowly and allow them to work their way out. After filling a new pod, wait five to ten minutes before vaping.
The pod’s orientation determines its resistance. Just note the etching on the pod itself: one side is labeled 1.0, and the other is labeled 0.7. In 1.0-ohm mode, the light flashes green; in 0.7 mode, it flashes blue. These lights also indicate the battery level in four stages.
You can also customize the draw by adjusting the airflow slider on the back. Wide open delivers a silky-smooth RDL experience. Close it completely, and a small pinhole appears, offering a semi-restricted MTL vape. The only slight downside is that opening the airflow just beyond the pinhole can introduce some turbulence and whistling. It only happens in a very narrow range, though, so it shouldn’t affect most users.
Performance
I first tested VOOPOO’s multi-ohm pods in my ARGUS G4 review, so I’ll be covering familiar territory here. However, these pods are outstanding, so I was thrilled to give them another spin. And to no one’s surprise, my opinion remains unchanged—they rock!
Because the ARGUS Z3 has no 0.4-ohm option, I focused on MTL for this review. Using both freebase and nic salt e-liquids, the performance has been fantastic: excellent flavor, consistent saturation, and impressive longevity (35+ mL). I have very specific standards for pods, and VOOPOO hasn’t let me down since introducing iCOSM Code 2.0 back in 2025. The multi-ohm pods are on the same level, with the added advantage of switchable resistances.
I do feel obligated to provide a word of caution, though. The two resistances available with the Z3 (0.7 and 1.0 ohms) provide a very similar experience. The 0.7-ohm setting may be slightly punchier than 1.0 ohms, but the difference feels comparable to an extra watt or two.
I also have a nitpicky criticism. After you take a drag, the LED indicator runs a 7-second light show before showing the battery status. Sometimes, I’m just curious about the battery level, so the lengthy delay feels excessive and unnecessary.
Battery life and charging
Along with its simpler construction, VOOPOO clearly made some concessions in the battery department to keep the price down. The capacity is only 1100 mAh; that may have been impressive a couple of years ago, but it’s below average in 2026. Still, it exceeds the capacity of most disposable vapes, so it’s far from a deal-breaker. It delivers about 6 mL per charge, which is about what I’d expect.
A full charge takes 92 minutes at roughly 0.6 amps. That’s definitely slower than I’d prefer, but it seems fair given the modest price point. Plus, it offers pass-through charging, so there’s no real downtime if you’re near a power source.
My only notable complaint here is regarding the battery indicator. After vaping the pod dry, the indicator shows three bars, suggesting you’ll get two to three more fills before needing to recharge. In reality, though, the battery dies before the next fill runs out (I usually fill twice and have 1 mL remaining). If you know this, you can plan accordingly; if you don’t, you may need to recharge much sooner than expected.

In many respects, the ARGUS Z3 can’t compete with most modern pod vapes. It lacks a screen, a large battery, fast charging, and premium construction. But that was clearly part of the plan. VOOPOO stripped away the fluff to create a high-performing device at the lowest possible cost. And they succeeded. It may not be particularly impressive on the surface, but it’s got it where it counts.
The multi-ohm pods are awesome. They deliver excellent flavor and longevity, plus some versatility with the two resistance options. The device also offers fully adjustable airflow, and it’s extremely light and portable. It covers most of the essentials, yet it costs less than a fast-food lunch.
My biggest criticism is the LED display. The battery status delay (light show) is annoying, and the indicator is inconsistent. I also suspect that the two resistance options may underwhelm some users. Switching from 1.0 to 0.7 ohms isn’t equivalent to boost or turbo mode; the difference is subtle.
The VOOPOO ARGUS Z3 is undeniably one of the best options in its price range. It’s the kind of device you bring to the beach, keep in a drawer as a backup, or hand out to smokers. If that’s what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate. But while the Z3 proves you can get a great vape for under $10, value is subjective. For about $8 more, you could upgrade to the ARGUS G4 Mini. It offers the same experience, but with considerably nicer construction. Whether that’s worth the extra investment is up to you.
