The VAPORESSO ECO NANO PRO is slightly taller than the NANO 2, due to the addition of a screen and two power modes (ECO and PWR). These modes allow you to change the power and airflow settings simultaneously. It also includes a new 0.6-ohm LUSH MESH pod that delivers phenomenal flavor. Available in eight colorways.

VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2

The VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2 certainly isn’t a massive departure from the original; it retains the same dimensions, battery (1000 mAh), and charging capabilities. However, the design has been slightly updated, a newer 0.6-ohm pod is included, and it now features a four-stage battery indicator. Available in nine colorways.

Product intro and specs

I never owned the original ECO NANO (released mid-2023). Initially, it failed to stir any interest or excitement, as I assumed it was just another basic pod system. Over the next year, however, I frequently heard users (including experienced vapers) singing its praises, which made me question my first impressions. Had I missed out on one of the best pod vapes of 2023? Before I managed to pick one up and find out, fate stepped in and delivered a VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2 and ECO NANO PRO for review.

Despite a few upgrades, the new kits use the same line of pods as the original, which allowed me to get the proper ECO NANO experience. After almost two weeks of use, I regret initially writing the series off as “basic.” They may be beginner-friendly starter kits, but the performance is far from basic.

Hopefully, I haven’t just spoiled the review. The truth is, while I enjoy the ECO NANO 2 and PRO, I can balance that appreciation with a healthy dose of criticism. Does the good outweigh the bad? Keep reading to find out.

Build quality and design

The ECO NANO PRO and NANO 2 may be intended to compete with the disposable market, but they’re in a much different class. The body is metal (rather than plastic), they have a nice weight, and the soft matte finish feels resilient. They’re also especially slim and compact; even the taller PRO version is more pocket-friendly than most disposables.

Although they’re put together quite well, the budget-conscious construction might shine through if you’re really looking. There are no deep, high-quality engravings; the graphics feel like more of an afterthought (this applies mostly to the ECO NANO 2). Also, the chassis of my NANO 2 has a tiny imperfection, but it’s so miniscule that I almost didn’t mention it. They may not qualify as premium products, but the build quality is WAY better than it needs to be.

It’s also worth mentioning that only one pod is included with these kits. While I understand that this helps keep the price down, starter kits should always include a backup pod or coil in case one of them is defective.

VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2 vs. ECO NANO PRO

Just to avoid any confusion as we move forward, let’s quickly highlight the key differences between the two devices.

  • Height: the PRO is 10.8 mm taller (all other dimensions are the same).
  • Weight: the PRO is about 9 grams heavier.
  • Power output: the NANO 2 has no power adjustments. The PRO features two modes: ECO (normal) and PWR (boost).
  • Airflow: the NANO 2 is airier and doesn’t offer airflow adjustability. The NANO 2 offers two airflow options, which coincide with the power modes.
  • Battery: both devices have the same 1000 mAh battery.
  • Screen: the PRO has a minimalist screen that displays the mode and battery percentage. The NANO 2 merely has an LED battery indicator (no screen).
  • Pods: both kits include 0.6-ohm pods, but the PRO pod is rated for more puffs (25k vs. 18k).

The biggest advantages of the ECO NANO PRO are the screen and power modes. The screen is a bit lackluster; it simply displays the power mode, battery percentage, and a weird flying saucer graphic. I get it—this layout probably feels familiar to disposable users, so it may be unfair to criticize. Still, a puff counter would have been nice. And if that weren’t possible, I would have preferred a smaller screen (absent the flying saucer).

I am, however, a big fan of the dual power modes. ECO mode restricts the airflow and delivers a lower voltage; PWR mode loosens the airflow and boosts the voltage. Some users prefer a bit more power and airflow (and some flavor profiles benefit from it), so I think it’s a great addition.

Getting started

The VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2 and PRO are so intuitive that a manual probably isn’t necessary. Fill up the pod and vape—that’s pretty much all there is to it.

The pods are filled via the rubber tab on the bottom. They seem especially leak-resistant, thanks to the chunky fill tab and the rubber grommet inside of the pod. Note that you’ll need to push the bottle tip through this grommet when filling.

After filling the pod, snap it into the device (in either orientation), and inhale to vape. The magnets holding it in place are quite strong, and there’s little (if any) movement. As previously mentioned, the ECO NANO PRO has two power modes, which can be changed by flipping the switch on the side.

Performance

Vaping360 placeholder image

Both devices are compatible with the original ECO NANO pods, but VAPORESSO is including two newer variations with these kits: a 0.6-ohm MESH pod (NANO 2), and a 0.6-ohm LUSH MESH pod (NANO PRO). What’s the difference? I have no idea. They look identical aside from slightly different wicking ports. The LUSH pods are marketed as having a higher puff count (25k vs. 18k), so it’s possible that the coil specs or wicking may differ. Regardless, if the LUSH pod is superior, why not include it in both kits?

Confusion aside, let’s see how these pods performed.

0.6-ohm MESH pod: I originally intended to test both devices in MTL, but quickly changed course. The airflow on the ECO NANO 2 is extremely loose, comparable to using a 2 mm air pin in an RTA. This lack of restriction makes it difficult to activate the device with an MTL draw. Covering the air inlets on the sides of the pod works in a pinch, but that’s not ideal. So, I drained the pod and switched to a thicker e-liquid (70VG) with lower nicotine for RDL.

It ended up being a serendipitous course change—this pod delivers a phenomenal RDL vape. Top-notch flavor and zero wicking issues. The airflow is on the tighter side of RDL, so it’s not suitable for cloud-chasers, but it hit the spot for me. Unfortunately, the performance took a sharp decline after 23 mL, but that may be due to the type of e-liquid I was using.

0.6-ohm LUSH MESH pod: thankfully, the airflow on the ECO NANO PRO (in ECO mode) accommodates a proper MTL draw. It may not be as tight as some would prefer, but it’s restrictive enough to satisfy most users.

I filled this pod with a 50/50 tobacco e-liquid, waited five minutes, and then took a blissful trip to Flavor Town. Although I tend to be a long-winded writer, I can only think of one word to describe the experience: “Wow.” VAPORESSO’S COREX technology has been great from the start, but somehow it keeps getting better. This is easily one of the best MTL pods I’ve used in 2024 (top three). It has also outlasted the other pod; I’ve put 27 mL through it and the flavor is just as good as it was at the beginning.

Battery life and charging

Vaping360 placeholder image

Both the VAPORESSO ECO NANO PRO and ECO NANO 2 house 1000 mAh batteries, which is the same size as the original. I found this surprising since increasing the battery capacity is usually a top priority when pod vapes are upgraded. It may be for the best, though. The sleek form factor is part of the ECO NANO charm, and increasing the dimensions may detract from that.

Because the pods hold an impressive 6 mL e-liquid, determining the amount used per charge was a bit challenging. The pod seems to be roughly 20-30% full when the battery dies, so my best guess is around 4.5 mL.

To charge, plug a USB-C cable (not provided) into the port on the bottom of the device. The four-stage battery meter on the ECO NANO 2 will flash while charging and stop when complete. When charging the PRO version, the live battery status is displayed on the screen. Both devices can be completely charged in about 55-64 minutes.

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • Excellent flavor from both pods
  • 6 mL e-liquid capacity
  • Compact size
  • Boost mode is a nice addition to the PRO
  • Large battery for their size (1000 mAh)
  • Battery percentage on display while using and charging (PRO only)
  • No leaking or condensation from pods
  • Pods fit securely (no wobble)
  • Very affordable
  • Easy to see entire e-liquid level (pods are crystal clear)
  • Comfortable mouthpiece (smaller than most pods—great for MTL)

Cons

  • Only one pod included
  • Airflow is too loose on the ECO NANO 2 (not ideal for MTL)
  • Both devices would have benefited from a fully adjustable airflow switch
  • No puff counter on the PRO screen
  • Spaceship graphic on PRO screen is unnecessary (subjective)
  • Charging could be faster

Verdict

The ECO NANO 2 and ECO NANO PRO have certainly lived up to expectations. They may be simple and inexpensive, but those are poor indicators of the vape experience. It often comes down to coil technology, which happens to be an area where VAPORESSO excels. Not only is the flavor exceptional, but these kits are also extremely pocket-friendly, have decent battery capacity, and hold 6 mL of e-liquid.

Ultimately, the ECO NANO PRO is the big winner for me, mainly because of the tighter airflow and power-boosting capabilities. The airflow on the NANO 2 was a disappointment; I thoroughly enjoyed it in RDL, but it’s far too loose for a proper MTL draw.

I also can’t help but wonder if the ECO NANO 2 was a necessary addition to the lineup. The dimensions, battery, and charge rate are unchanged from the original. The only notable upgrades are the battery indicator and a slightly modified chassis. If VAPORESSO had simply added an airflow slider or a larger battery, the “version two” classification would have seemed more fitting.

Regardless, using both kits has been an absolute pleasure. I finally understand why the original was so beloved. VAPORESSO has always prioritized performance, which couldn’t be more obvious with the ECO NANO 2 and ECO NANO PRO. Although disposable users seem to be the target market, even experienced vapers will find serious value here.

Highly recommended.
