Product intro and specs
Get ready to have your vaping mind blown with the ZLand by ZLab! This revolutionary prefilled pod vape lets you mix up to three flavors for a unique creation. Imagine combining mango with cake and vanilla—yes, it's possible!
The ZLand is the core of this new vaping system, featuring a 1200 mAh magnetic battery with adjustable airflow and a magnetized mouthpiece/top cap. The ZLand powers the dual mesh-coil flavor pods, called ZColors, which are sold separately.
The trick behind this sorcery is that the ZColors can be stacked magnetically, blending various flavors during the inhale. Also adding to the customized taste, each pod has 3x power modes, making the strength of each flavor customizable. The 10 mL ZColor pods come in five nicotine strengths (0 mg/mL, 1.9 mg/mL, 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, and 50 mg/mL) and a whopping 50 base flavors, allowing for thousands of flavorful combinations.

Size, look, and feel
The ZLand is comprised of three parts: a mouthpiece/top cap, up to three ZColors pods, and a power unit/base. Each section is magnetized and fits together firmly, flush, and with a strong clap. The magnets successfully hold the device together no matter how you hold it, unless you drop it. Otherwise, the connections are strong!
As mentioned, each 10 mL pod is equipped with a dual-mesh coil and a power adjustment. There’s a small metal button on the side of the pods that adjusts the power level from regular to medium to high. There’s a tiny bit of button rattle with that button, and if you have three ZColors stacked, it makes the rattle more noticeable. It’s a minor flaw in the context of the device and experience, but worth mentioning.
The ZLand can have three sizes, depending on your ZColors stack. Here’s the breakdown with the different configurations:
- 1 x ZColors: 27 mm x 53 mm x 68 mm; 80 g (about the size of a small disposable)
- 2 X ZColors: 27 mm x 53 mm x 94 mm; 110 g (about the size of a dual-18650 mod)
- 3 X ZColors: 27 mm x 53 mm x 120 mm; 140 g (about the size of a dual-18650 mod with a small tank)
Even with three pods attached, the ZLand doesn’t feel big to me. But I’m also used to box mods and tanks. The body has a hexagonal form, which makes it feel really good in the hand, similar to a box mod with a C-frame. The exterior of the ZColors has a rubberized coating, which gives it that soft-touch feeling popularized by old eGo batteries.
The ZLand (with ZColors) is a vape unlike anything else I’ve ever used. It’s just so damn cool! Imagine being able to create a whole new color scheme and flavor, in seconds. It feels good in the hand, it’s beautiful to look at, and it’s fun to interact with—and we haven’t even gotten to the performance.
Getting started
As revolutionary as this device is, getting started is super simple. But the naming convention, unfortunately, makes things a little wonky to explain. Once you understand what to order and what to expect, you're halfway there. Here’s what you need to know:
ZLand features and contents:
- 1200 mAh internal lithium-ion battery
- Includes a magnetized top cap
- Adjustable airflow is on the bottom (loose MTL to a restricted lung hit)
- LED indicating the battery level (on the back near the bottom of the power unit)
- USB-C cord included
- Powers up to three ZColors
- Automatic draw
ZColors features and contents:
- Stackable flavor pods ordered separately
- 50 flavors to choose from
- 10 mL liquid capacity (TPD and ESMA available)
- Each ZColors comes with an additional top cap
- Adjustable power button (single-press adjustments)
- Power level indicator under the button (green/regular, yellow/medium, red/high)
- Juice meter (droplet light; located above button)
When you connect the ZColors with the ZLand, the lights illuminate to let you know the remaining power levels and juice. Additionally, you can just press the button once to show you the levels. After a single press, the next press of the button will advance the power level (no issues with accidental changes). Lastly, when you connect the ZLand, ZColors, and top cap, they’re all reverse polarized, so they only fit together how they should.
The whole idea is brilliant, and the performance exceeds expectations.
Note
ZLab is taking an ecosystem approach, and the ZColors are compatible with various of their devices. Here's a brief rundown to help you get the naming convention correct:
- ZColors: Flavor pods; compatible with with ZLand and ZJoins
- ZLand: Power device for prefilled vape; used with ZColors (up to three)
- ZJoins: HnB/heated tobacco device; can be used with ZColors (up to one)
How does it hit?
The ZLand provides a full hit! The airflow of the ZLand goes from a restricted lung hit to a loose MTL, depending on how you set your airflow. For those wishing for a strict MTL, that’s something the ZLand doesn’t quite do. The mouthpiece on the top cap is a wider bore duckbill style, which makes it well-suited for robust hits.
As someone who loves MTL the most, I am completely satisfied with the looser hit of the ZLand. That’s not to say it’s airy, though. It’s just not tight.
No matter how you have your power levels set, the vape is warm with dense vapor. No issues with gurgling, leaking, or spitting. And no issues with lingering flavors in the top cap. Each new mix tastes clean and without carryover.
ZColors best flavors (and combinations)
The flavors are good! The ZColors system is a game-changer for flavor chasers. I’ve tried 14 flavors and probably a few dozen flavor combinations. Mixing and matching is a level of fun and enjoyment you have to experience for yourself.
Since adjusting the power level on each ZColor changes the flavor profile, you can get multiple experiences from just one mix. Even flavors I’m not crazy about on their own, like pineapple, can be made enjoyable when blended with something like orange and mango (and put on regular power). It’s hands down the most ingenious and satisfying vape I've ever used.
These are the 14 flavors I tried and how I like to mix them. They all taste fine individually, though most taste better when mixed. I can name these flavors without even checking because they’re like my ingredients!
Coffee: A dark roast. Goes great with milk!
Grape: Juicy, sweet, and natural. Works great with other fruits, even some uncommon pairings like watermelon taste great.
Gum: generic gum flavor that pairs well with multiple fruits.
Mango: A juicy, ripe-tasting mango. Pairs well with other citrus fruits and dessert combos.
Milk: Sweet and creamy. Goes well for a nice pairing with mango, coffee, and strawberry.
Mint chill: A blend of sweet, cool, and spiced mints, great for multiple mixes with fruits and candies.
Orange: Sweet, vibrant and zesty. Goes great with other citrus fruits, stone fruits, as well as strawberry.
Peach: An amazing flavor on its own. Natural and sweet, pairing well with many fruits.
Pineapple: Natural, tart, and sweet. Best with other mango and peach.
Sakura: Floral and unique. Great to add pizzaz to fruits like grape and watermelon.
Strawberry: Aromatic, sweet, and intoxicating. Great on its own or with other fruits, milk, and even sakura.
Strawnana: An almost dessert-like blend of strawberry and banana that works well on its own, or practically every mix good for strawberry.
Watermelon: A lively, sweet, and fresh-tasting watermelon that works surprisingly well with many other fruits.
Cola: A flavorful cola taste that blends well with fruits or vanilla (I imagine). Particularly good with grape and strawberry and also with milk (like a cola float).
My favorite blends (so far):
- Sakura/peach
- Strawberry/watermelon
- Mango/milk
- Mango/peach
- Mango/peach/milk
- Watermelon/orange
- Strawnana/gum
- Strawberry/cola
- Coffee/milk
As an aside, you can double up on a flavor, too. If you like the coffee/milk but want more milk flavor without increasing the power, you can use 2x milk ZColors. The possibilities are practically endless.
How long does it last?
This is tricky to assess due to so many factors. As you can imagine, even with the 1200 mAh battery, the lifespan of the battery isn’t very long. You can drain a battery easily in half a day. With the extra load of more coils and various power settings, stacking more flavors drains the battery faster. You’ll probably have to charge daily.
Similarly, with liquid consumption, it’s hard to say how long they last due to the same factors. The ZLand will drain liquid and the battery quickly, especially if you’re vaping heavily and on high power settings. With this design, there are tradeoffs with the capacity. The pods are rated for up to 15k puffs each, which I think is a wild stretch for 10 mL pods.
Lastly, the charge is long. It takes about 90 minutes to charge the ZLand battery. Luckily, it has pass-through charging. On the small LED screen, the battery percentage readout fills up so you can check the charge status at a glance.

Verdict
The ZLand/ZColors combo by ZLab is nothing short of a revolutionary vape. If you love experimenting with flavors, you’re going to love this. It’s got a simple yet ingenious design that lets you stack up to three flavors, which means ordering flavors is a whole new game. Just adding one new flavor to your collection creates new possibilities for your other flavors. Get ready to stalk the mailman again!
What’s most awesome about the ZLand is the performance. The form factor and tech features are done well, but without good flavors and strong performance, this could’ve been just a great idea. Instead, it’s a great vape.
Still, there are some trade-offs. Immediately, it becomes a question of budget for me. I already want to order the entire menu! I don’t know the price yet, but all these ZColors are going to cost something. And the battery, while a good capacity at 1200 mAh, tends to get drained quickly, especially when using higher power modes. The charging time is on the longer side, taking about 90 minutes. And that puff rating is not accurate. Remember, each ZColor only has 10 mL.
Despite those cons, the ZLand's pros far outweigh the cons. If you're looking for a vape that offers more than just a standard experience, the ZLand is going to rock your world. What flavor will you come up with?
Strongest recommendation ever.
